Hey all,

I am looking to replace the head gasket in my Gen 1 3sge. While I am at it I thought it might be a good opportunity to raise the compression a little.

Firstly, can anyone tell me the thickness of the standard head gasket?

Secondly, is skimming the head an option for me? Is this something that anyone has done in order to raise compression? and how much can be safely taken off?
What is a safe compression to run with 98ron without running into problems with pinging?
