    Default Differences btwn MX62-MX73 struts...

Does anyone have any idea what the differences are between the Cressy MX62 and MX73 front suspension?

Are the MX73 struts any shorter? Interchangable?

    Cheers

Thanks mate. That would be brilliant if you have the time...

If you do get the chance while you're there could you possibly measure from the top of the strut to the spring perch as well?

MX73 struts are 99% (if not 100%) the same as MA61 struts.

Not sure if that helps though.

my DBA cat says the rotors are overall the same diameter but the thickness differs.

18 vs 22mm thick. mx73 being the thicker one

    equates to 0.5-1kg exta.

you might not care about the brake differences though?

    I put SA63 (same as RA60 and RA65) struts in my MX62.

Camber was around -0.2, but it was lowered about 50mm+.

I suggest that if you are thinking about using MX62 struts for something that RA6x / SA63 struts would be better as they have better brakes and more upgrade options...

    Cheers boys for the info.

Wilbo...they're actually to go into my MX32.

Were the Celica ones a bolt in? Did you use the stock LCA's etc?

    Thanks heaps

    Ah,

I'd look at RA6x / SA63 then for the reasons previously mentioned Better stock brakes, better brake upgrade options, better spring choice off the shelf, better shock choice.

Yes the SA63 were a bolt in. I used MA61 kings springs (lows) with the MA61 top spring seat (it is large due to the MA61 having a large dia spring) and the MX62 strut top.

I used the SA63 master cly and bias valve (without the SA63 bias valve it would lock the rears wayyyyy before the fronts, less that ideal!).

    I also had ~30mm RCA's as well...

    G'Day Rory,

Unfortunately my struts are back in the car so my measurements couldn't be that accurate. The above dimensions are from the top of the strut to the bottom of the spring seat (on the lower surface) and then to the bottom of the strut.

The tube diameter is 51mm OD and approx 46mm ID.

Dood if you need any other dimensions lemme know
