TA22 brake upgrade

Hi guys,

I have just put Hilux brakes on the 22.

It is due for a master upgrade as the current one is leaking and with the bigger calipers the pedal is a little long.

Has any one done a master upgrade on this style that is just a bolt up?

Any recommendations?

Pajero or Camry cylinders are the go. Plenty of detail in those threads on what models / how to fit etc.

Hey Matt depending were you are in NSW you can take your master cylinder to a place called Burt Brothers in Fairfield. They do reconditioning of master cylinders, steering box, clutch mazter cylinder so on. I took my master cylinder from my RA23 and they did a good job. Decent pricing also.

Best recommendation is the SV30 camry... its a 1" bore:





Toyota Aurion is also a good fit, with a 1" and a slightly bigger reservoir.
