Hmmm looks like you're right... Koni 8241-1140Sport have also been suggested. However, they are 2 inches shorter (19inches) but travel is only .25 inches less. Might be a bit useless if you've already moved your lower mounts however.

At full droop, how captive should the springs be? Just snug in there, or should they have quite a bit of tension on them?

Just captive should do it. Any more and you restrict the amount of movement you have should your car leave the ground, and that can cause extra stress on other components. It also reduces the impact when the suspension tops out.

Seems series 1 rx7 are around the right length.. Just the bottom mounting is slightly different, the centre hole is larger and the width is different.. Nothing a custom bush probably couldn't fit though.

Thanks mate, that is a Torana shock, also used in Nissan 180b/200b haha.

I'll check out its length to see if suitable.

    Cheers

    RA28 rear shock
    549mm open / 339mm closed.
Top mount= 11.11mm dia pin, 54.61mm pin length
Bottom mount= 15.88mm pin, Bush width 36.58mm free, 33.27mm compressed

    90 series Prado 4WD rear
    538mm / 332mm
Top mount= 11.11mm dia pin, 60.20mm pin length
Bottom mount= 19.05mm pin, Bush width 44.45mm free, 38.10mm compressed

Will need a sleeve pressed inside the lower mount, and a modified lower mount to accept the wider bush (or narrow it with a grinder )

Bilstein p/n BE5-2351 or BE5-2741. Not sure if these are longer than factory length though.

Not having any luck on finding the specs on the Torana/180B shocks that Stew is running. I've got a catalog of shock specs but its US, and Torana/180B don't seem to be listed there which is understandable.

The listing i have shows 180B/1600 uses the same shock as a RA28.
    XU-1 Torana 501mm/305mm

GS006 is LH Torana rear. I bought some Koni's for a workmate for his LH through Toperformance last year, $199 trade I think.

    Seems GX006 suits RA28, Torana, 1600, 180B etc .. 501mm is a bit shorter than standard RA28 though?

I dont quite get why Koni's catalog lists part number 80229 for Torana, 1600, 180b. But not for Celica?
