snow is momentary button negative, input SNWI, bulb output SNWO
power is positive on/off button, PWR input
o/d is negative on/off , it must be named "od1" or "odms" on later models its pin renamed to "3" with 4spd auto and "4" with a 5-speed
The wiring in my jzx73 conversion is 99% complete, i just cant figure out how to wire the overdrive button on the shifter.
anyone know if its switched positive or negative? and where it needs to go to on the jzx100 ECU?
and at a stretch the same for the PWR and Economy button.
Thanks in advance.

Exactly what i was after!
thanks George your a champ!
cheers, enjoy )
p/s also, on later models there's no overdrive button, and o/d transmission range is disabled like any other
so if you see "3" or "4" pin on the ECU diagram, you should supply 12v to the pin to activate the corresponding mode
and if you see "od1" or "odms" it's supposed to be negative triggered

I don't see od1 or odms on my pin out diagram
All I have showing on the 28p connector is "2" and "3"
That's pins 10 and 15 respectively.
then wire L and 2 to the pattern selector switch on the transmission and "3" to your overdrive button. All of the pins are positive

So wire L on the pattern selector switch to "2" , I'll be splicing into the jzx100 tranmission harness and effectively looping in the signal for this?
And then OD button to "3"
not exactly. Look. By moving the classical style pattern selector lever, you can select L-2-D. These are the signals fed into ECU right off the trans-mounted switch.
When D is selected, by activating pin "3" you turn the o/d off. The pin is activated by a separate button

Right, so the box will, without signal to pin "3", automatically use OD?
So what does wiring in L, 2 actually achieve? Since the ecu is already getting the selected gear position from the pattern selector.
And if simply splicing those signals from the selector is not exactly correct, how should I go about this?
Someone once said to me... ECU's come with built in smoke... Once you take it out, you can't out it back in! Still makes me laugh to this day
yes it will
the ecu gets the position only if you wire it. there's no other route L,2,3,R signals could get into ECU pins
the smoke story is a bit different. In fact, every Jap ECU has some sort of spirit inside. It looks like grey smoke. Once you let the spirit out, the ECU dies

Haha, I like the spirit story better.
So wiring wise, I've got my dash lights working, park thru to L.
Is a simple splice into the correct inputs sufficient?
On the jzx100 u push the shifter to the side to take it out of OD. So is it correct to say that what this switch does is give the ecu power on pin 3
Sure, just splice them between the dash and ECU

You should translate all the important electrical stuff and sell it!
While I have you, does the jzx100 have a PWR and economy or normal switch?
And is it switched +ve or -ve
JZX100 has pwr/economy/snow . Economy is when nothing is activated
Some JZX100 variants only had PWR/Eco modes
anyway, PWR is positive as I already told you above
