we make a fitting kit. it doesnt require a custom sway bar like most conversions. but it does require "massaging" of the fire wall.

if you want search for tims car on the old forums that will give you an idea.

i think his SN was timottaway, just search ra65 celica drift car.

Why go to that much expense?? RT142 corona tank bolts in, and the fuel lines bend into place with a bit of effort (mind you, new lines are always a good option anyways, as the build up in the lines from previous neglectful owners can be a PITA). How do i know?? I put an RT142 tank in an RA60 when i did a 22RE conversion. Hardest part of changing to EFI was wiring, fuel system was as frank stated, a doddle.

Depends, a lot of the time an RA65 setup will be no more expensive.

Maybe its just the ripoffs who have no idea what cars are worth that im used to dealing with. Also an RT142 could probably be picked up as a giveaway, whereas even junk RA65s fetch a few bucks. Mind you you would probably be better off ditching the RA60, get an RA65, and do that up... that way you start with efi tank, and F series IRS diff RA60 has a poo rearend.

I'm flattered, but it isn't in yet

RA60 KID, you didn't find much info??? Did you search??? You have 2 options for fitting the engine:

    * Leave the gearbox in the stock location, make custom mounts & need custom front swaybar.
    * Move the gearbox back a bit, buy mounts kit, massage firewall, shorten driveshaft... and don't need custom front swaybar.

Either way, you will need EFI fuel tank gear etc, and a front sump.

If you don't get a gearbox, you will need to get a G-series bellhousing.

The mount kits are sold by Kaizen Garage. To use these, you have to be prepared to massage the firewall & have the tailshaft shortened.

you dont need to shorten the diff, just the tailshaft.

The diff in the RA60 is a T series, and arent very strong. Brett_Celicacoupe blew his yesterday afternoon after 8 months behind a stock 1GGTE (Gen3)

Your much better off with the complete RA65, as everything is in place, including a super sturdy F series diff (Norbie has had one behind a 2JZGTE with 400+hp for over 2 years, no probs)

So yeah, i would be inclined to go with doing up an RA65 with option A, as firewall massaging is going to be a PITA to get through an engineer, mounts are easy, tailshaft is a bolt in, and a spring shop should fix your swaybar problem for minimal outlay.

RA65 diff wont just bolt in... its a major job fitting it, you need to modify your rear subframe to fit the diff frame under. They use a different suspension system, different diff mounting etc. Its easier for you to get an RA65 and bolt the front end of your RA60, plus the doors handles and taillights onto it, making it look like your RA60. There was a writeup done by somebody who fitted one of these diffs to an RA40 (identical rear subframe to RA60), and it was certainly not easy... plus its not hard to put the diff in slightly crooked... and if you do that, you can kiss many sets of tyres and a good deal of driveability goodbye. Food for thought.
