2jzgte front crank seal leak!! Help!

Hey guys .

Just before I blew my 2jzgte engine, it had a really bad leak from my front crank seal( pissing out ).
I have fully built the engine with all forged bottom end.

Today I was bleeding the cooling system due to constant temps creeping past the halfway mark.
Just as I was going to finish & turn off the motor, it stalled & when I checked under the car I noticed it was pissing out again.

I was running in the motor & have only done 150km's on it.
Is this a common problem with 2j's & is their a fix or trick to this that I need to know??
Any info would be greatly appriciated as this issue is making me suicidal!!!

How's the crankcase pressure/blowby?
IDK what a 2JZGTE is, but can't imagine any engine having any tricks that aren't applicable to every other engine, or any Toyota engine having a common problem that would show up in 150km.
Front cover indexed with dowel pins?
Tightened down before it was centered & seal installed?
Groove in the seal's mating surface?

All checked & triple checked. I'm going to see the engine builder to see if they Linished the crank surface.
Like I said this was doing it before the engine build & has started doing it again.

Its not the linishing of the crank, its the finish of the Harmonic Balancer where the seal runs against that's important, did you also lube the seal lip ( where it runs on the harmonic balancer ) before installing it .. When you pulled the motor down after it Blew up, was the crank seal still in place & looking good or was it hanging out of the front cover causing the leak ??

The crank seal & harmonic balancer don't come in contact with each other , the seal goes on the oil pump & theirs a belt drive gear & large washer before it.
& yes I did lube the lip.
Like I said after 150k's it's now started to leak & what worries me is the way it goes from zero leaks or seepage to really fast dripping , just like before it went pop!
I have done thousands of cam & crank seals as I am a Toyota mechanic & never have I had this kind of issue.

Sorry my Bad, I don't know what I was thinking, I have been looking at a few old Ford motors of late & just got them mixed up in my head & posted without thinking too ..

When you pulled down the old motor, was the seal still looking good / intact or popped out, as you know you need to look at what has gone wrong & the items at fault & try & work back to figure it out ..

All good. I need as many heads thinking with me as possible ,cause mine has fried over this issue.
The seal before it looks fine.( I still have the old pump & seal in my garage )

Its definitely leaking from the seal ?? as you said I would be looking at the surface finish of the crank & also double checking the cam cover breathers & associated piping are all good & free flowing

Yeap, it's the seal. Checked all hoses,PCV valve..... All good. I've got the engine builder coming over to inspect it soon, so hopefully he will have a answer.

I presume the seal is a good fit in the Housing, can you see if the seal lip has started to invert ??

Can you see it leaking from the lip area, obviously wetness is your only guide ..

Obviously the sump oil level is correct & not way over full ..

It's an issue with pressure building up behind the front crank seal due to a drain hole not being large enough to bleed off the built up pressure.
Google 2jz oil pump mod and it will give you the info you need

Blew mine at the drags this week
Will use some loctite seal retainer lol

I've got my old oil pump as a reference to check out this drain port.
Do you have a photo of it or the mod??
