We talking rear main? or front main?
I have searched and found nothing. Both here and my usual spare parts dealers.
I have a 1uz out of a 1990 Crown going into a MS83 Crown.
I thought I would change the timing belt and water pump before I got the car on the road. I have tried all around town and cannot buy a crank seal. The bearing shop has told me "genuine" only.
Toyota dealer shrugged his shoulders and said, "they didn't sell them in Australia, can't help".
Can someone tell me a part number or a place to buy one. Do the Lexus models have the same seal?
I found the 3sfe seal is the same outside diameter, but it is 1mm smaller shaft size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Shane.

Front main is the one I'm chasing.
Is it worth replacing? I've never heard of anyone having one leak.
I'm guessing you have already removed it and given it to a seal/bearing shop and they haven't been able to match it?
And Lexus brought the motor into the country in the 1991-1994 LS400.

Thats for that. It looks like a trip off to the Lexus dealer is in order.
Went back the a local supplier today and we looked up LS400 in the book and he had one in stock. Slightly thicker, but does the job nicely and the engine is all bacj together.

find a new toyota dealer, because the one you are going to is useless. Also, lexus IS Toyota so unless you feel like paying for extra dont ever visist a Lexus dealership
The toyota "electronic parts catalogue" is more than capable of looking up parts listings for any car, locally sold or not.
Just keep this chassis model on hand - UZS131-ATPUK.
Otherwise, contact James at Castle Hill Toyota in Sydney.... he will find any parts you need.
...... butt scratcher?!
I share these sentiments - my local Toyota dealer = not the goods. I don't even bother asking him for anything that isn't very basic/common.
I don't know why they have to be unhelpful. If it isn't a set of mudflaps for a Camry or a bull bar for a Hilux they don't want to know.
Because they are lazy, and profit driven.
There isn't much profit in spending 15mins on a computer searching for a $5 seal.
But the is profit in walking out the back and bringing back $250 mudflaps.

We had a good parts store in town, but when the guy wanted to retire there was no-one interested in buying him out.
He was struggling a bit with other bigger stores. He knew just about every part off the top of his head. If he didn't have a part for you he would see it as a challenge to find one somewhere.
Pity those bloke are not around too much anymore.
Sounds like my local place. Very few left like this, but because of their style they do quite well. There is a Repco, a SuperCheap and Auto One, and this place all within 100m.
He's gone to some extraodinary lengths to find parts for me.
Most of time genuine is available, but at 2-3 times the cost.
He usually finds an aftermarket copy with in a day or two.

In contrast, my local(well 40kms away) Toyota parts dealer is awesome. The two dudes there are enthusiasts (and hence very knowledgable for salesman) and will spend 15mins looking for a $10 part for me. I normally help them out by walking in with part numbers(EPC is bloody handy)
Give me trade price now too(seem to give me around 25% off) which is a bonus for parts which can't be bought non-genuine. Unfortunately they don't have access for Lexus bits.
One the other hand, another local Toyota dealer(about 80kms away) is the stereotype affair(=wankers).
Back to topic, Landcruiser V8(UZJ100) is the same part and available from any dealer.
Out of interest, for future reference, what is the size of the seal?.
