If you need me to, i can make a couple of calls around lunchtime. So you're all up to speed on where i stand, my wife has been in hospital for a week with a blood infection. What was originally a couple of days has continually dragged out and at this stage we're aiming for discharge on thursday morning. So, despite my optimism i think it's time to admit it's unlikely i'll be coming down thursday night, and am looking like a maybe to making friday at all. Am currently relying on bec's family coming down to help out with our 1 year old so i can get away on friday...

So, at this point count me out for thursday and friday night, as long as i can get away will still come down for even just a couple of hours and if somehow i can stay friday i'll cross my fingers for a spare bed with mwscc and be around for beers.

So that makes 5 of you thursday, and 6 with B24 SW20 on friday. Will let you know when i hear back if the mwscc guys have enough room for you. Sorry guys, haven't been on top of stuff this time.

thats the annoying bit matt, its like 30 mins to swap a starter but to get a new one will take a couple of days. i was trying to clutch it last night, and no dice. it didnt help that the car was last driven a month ago but i did start it on the weekend to make it easier to start again when i needed to take it for a test toast.

im still trying to bludge a starter off anyone i know to see if i can get it to kick over and go from there.

Good job Vito! I checked my garage for M starter motors that I used to have a heap of (on the off chance they'd fit) but it looks like they've been passed on to others already

We can get accom for 5 at alpine heritage for Thursday night, needs to be booked tonight/asap kinda thing;
One triple room and one double room for $213, $43 each

At this stage, I'll probably wont stay Friday night., not enough rooms at the inn's to make it work easily.

Ok, just got off the phone with Garth and Adam (xero) and I've booked a twin room and a triple at the Alpine Heritage for tomorrow night. Adam is still a maybe for coming down due to starter issues and I don't know what Vito is doing but I've asked Adam to let me know on his behalf also when he gets to Adam's place.

So - Thursday night at this stage looks like:
Brooks Rd meet - Me, Nick, Adam (pending) and Vito (pending)
Accomodation - Me, Nick, Steve, Vito (pending), Adam (pending)

Friday night I'm happy to book as well, but I guess I'll need to get confirmation on who wants to stay. Garth and his mate Mick are out, so I guess it's me, Nick, B24 SW20, Vito (pending) and Adam (pending).

Anyone I've missed or anyone on the list not staying? At this point the the Heritage has a twin room available for Friday night and I believe the Astor still has some rooms too. As soon as I know who's in 100% I'll make the booking/s

B24 SW20 has sorted himself something for Friday, i think out at the track cabins - don't think there's much left there either.

The mwscc guys haven't got any room left, but they did recommend the Astor, having stayed there recently when they couldn't get into the Alpine Heritage.


Honestly at this stage i'm going to struggle to get there at all, wife's getting discharged tomorrow.


To compound things, woke up this morning and my phone has wiped all my contacts; google, outlook exchange, all the synced accounts. Somewhat of a concern, given it's across multiple accounts - anyway, i had a semi-recent backup but i need to be on the office network to re-import it... so in the meantime, anyone who's got my number please text me and tell me who you are. And if you talk to anyone on Friday who's wondering where i am, please ask them to send me their number too. This sucks big time, and the interweb isn't offering up much solution just yet, i fear the phone has 'synced' my accounts to oblivion.


Samsung Galaxy S2, if anyone happens to have a wonder-fix... thought my 'phone' contacts were backing up to google, appears not. Can't confirm my outlook is still there as need to be in the office as they forgot to setup VPN on my new laptop, and won't be back there until tuesday at the earliest.
