    Default Tacho issue

    Here's a good one for you guys;

    Got a MX83 with a JS147 2JZGTE in it which seems to be having a tacho issue, when you start the car it flickers to life for a second then dies in the arse. Awesome bit is when you indicate or hold the power window button up it comes good

    I didn't build the car and am not 100% sure what was done (nfi on the tach booster) to get it going, I've pulled the cluster and it looks good. Tacho unit looks untouched. I've also pulled the glovebox out and there is a shitload of stuff wired in (alarm, GPS, bluetooth, power splices, couple of relays, jaycay kit for the fuel pump) and couldn't see the plug I was looking for. Tried not to fiddle with anything too much as that normally leads to problems

    Something has gone tits up, just need to find it and I figure you blokes might be able to save me some time.

    Any pointers?

    Yeah there is one somewhere, not sure how it been done as there are quite a few ways to do it but I'll look up some JS147 wiring diagrams to see which plug going to the body loom has the right bits. Nothing jumped out to me, normally you expect to see something spliced in but nothing of the sort. I think my issue is somewhat more complex as I seem to have some sort of awesome power or earthing issue.

    Did the tacho work when u bought it
    I think the tacho wire on a 2j late model is a green with black trace
    If the tacho flickers means its wired up
    The person who did it probably did an average job and didn't hook one up

    Fixed it....... dunno what the deal was but that mod has it sorted
    Cant find any booster, two previous owners including the bloke who dropped $30k on the car didn't know either.
