It is all relatively simple when you break it down.

Run the body harness from your car.
Run the engine harness from the new engine.
Get the wiring diagram for the engine harness and strip out everything your bit using (eg. aircon) and the loom will be half as biig.
Drop power etc across the ten or so wires the engine needs

    Problem solved.

Gets more complex if you have a late model car with gauges etc but still that's the basic idea.
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....

Ok Right, although I can't explain to you step by step "E.g Join this to this" how to wire your car in, I will tell you exactly the steps to follow, and if done right, your motor will work.

    Do this :

    - Wiring Diagrams for Both Cars.

In the Engine bay on the 1g-gte harness find the wire that goes from the MREL activation pin from the ECU to activate normally what is the EFI Main Relay on the Soarer.
ofcourse the Hilux might not have this so just buy a relay and put it there and this MREL wire from your Soarer ECU run it to the coil of your relay ofcourse you need to find out if this is ground
or power coming from the ECU MREL wire, and the other side of the relay coil you wire up permanently to whatever it requires opposite to what the MREL is e.g if MREL is power trigger then the other side of your relay coil will be permanent ground. Run one side of the contact of the relay to power, and the other side that outputs the power you need to run it to the wire colours on your 1g-gte harness
that get power from that Main Relay on the Soarer normally and you will see what wire this is on the wiring diagram.

For the Alternator Ussually on the Alternator there will be a little Diagram on it telling you which wires are "IG S and L", obviously IG = Ignition switched S = To sense battery voltage and L = Light.

Light you run from the alternator directly to the Charge light on your Hilux dash so look that up on your Hilux wiring diagram. IG make sure the alternator gets on that wire 12v on Ignition every time no matter what, S makes sure it runs directly off the battery so it see's whatever battery voltage is.

On the Plugs near the ECU Plugs you will need to wire in IGSW Terminal which gets power on Ignition without this the ECU is not going to trigger the Relay and the car will not work. Look on the diagram all the other wires that have normally Constant Power, and make sure these get constant power too, such as B1 and +B etc. Any grounds from the ECU make sure they get ground, most of them will do off your ground straps on your ECU harness but there MAY be some that need ground off elsewhere, most likely not but better be sure.

Last of all you will see which wires run off your water temp sensor and you connect them to the wire that goes to your dash, same off the one that runs off the coil for your Tacho signal, and you just run this to your tacho wire on your Hilux dash whatever it be. Now make sure your Hilux fuel pump is still turning on after the conversion if not wire up a Relay to turn it on during Ignition or better yet use a special relay called a Tachometric Relay that you wire up according to its instructions that will prime your pump and run it while the engine is cranking, otherwise you can just have your fuel pump running off a ignition triggered relay constantly that will work too.

Also near your engine bay running off the 1g-gte loom there will be a wire that requires constant battery power and make sure this is connected up.

Your Relay that you install int he engine bay as described earlier fuse it with a 15A Fuse and any other wire you run directly off the battery fuse it with the maximum rated fuse that any component running off that wire will DRAW if not chosen correctly you will be blowing fuses.

Then your done. Or Fly me over and pay me to do it ha ha

i think im cracking it slowly, broke the continuity meter out and went through and labled a fair bit of what i need and most of what i dont is cut out and set aside some of the wiring doesnt even have pins so they got chopped pretty quick.
turbo pressure sensor wiring ill still keep connected just in case. i did track it down to a junction block but theres no plug to continue from there so possibly it goes to the instrument panel.
thanks for the help guys looks like ill get there with my sanity intact after all

without reading all the above.. if youre gunna go a bigger turbo and an aftermarket ecu later.. just do that now.. it takes FA time to wire up

when i did mine, i remember having to not only power the ecu but there was an injector line that needed power aswell.. then if you want to do it correctly aswell, follow the wiring diagram for the fuel pumps, it uses a ground wire from the AFM to complete the circuit to turn on the fuel pump..... other than that i cant remember much else lol

its easy just 7 wires i do recall

1 find common power wire to injectors and coils join this to ign on ignition barrel wiring
2 find start solenoid wire join this to old motor start wire normally comes from start relay
3 find power to some sensors and ecu this is called +b+b1 this goes to efi relay
4 find wire that triggers efi relay
5 find fuel pump wire trigger either from air flow meter or ecu
6 run battery power to ecu BATT wire
7 run fuel pump power wire from fuel pump relay

u will also need to power up efi and fuel pump relay and get the triggers right

if u want a proffessional job ill be in sydney just after easter for a week wiring up cars
