Judging by my efforts to get a brake upgrade done by this event, only if you have a very understanding boss (or one who doesn't know where you can disappear to for hours).

Garth, I'll know early next week. Got a dirt motorkhana on this weekend (which obviously uses different wheels/tyres) & then I can drop off at a shop to work out what's doing with the rear end.

Gun, or anybody else for that matter, i haven't received any PMs - please resend or ask me here. No you can't rock up and pay on the day; being a private day we need you paid up in full beforehand, preferably a couple of weeks before hand as i have to pay for all of my spots out of my pocket a week before at the latest.

I understand people have other stuff on and reasons why they can't commit either way right now - that's fine, just let me know as soon as you can if you're in or out and we'll see if there's room then. There's 3 or 4 people actually waiting to make sure their car survives before committing to a spot here so there might be a late rush on sunday night/monday.

Anyone got any ideas why a car will start to idle high, along with the symptom of having bright "reds" when turn the ignition on, but then when try to start, the car just goes dead?
Clutch starts ok, but then continues to idle high.
Battery connection is ok.
Lots of fanbelt squeaking, even after tightening the belt up.
Thinking dud bearing in the alternator which may have flattened the battery, but I'm welcome to any other ideas.

Had the 2nd last round of state motorkhana championship today. Currently 3rd in my class, but the 1st & 2nd place didn't show today, so hopefully. I'll jump to 1st by 4 points.
Last round is on 11 November.

Any successful suggestions will be repaid with beer after Wakefield...

BTW Garth, that kind of means I'm now a possible maybe instead of a definite maybe...
