I've got two usable R888's, might as well find another two

That kebab/taleb tyre shop in Sydney has some 2007 production stock, set of 4 for $750.

I would like to keep them for a while, so I have to factor in that but I'm not sure what would kill them first, the age of the compound or the heat cycles?

If I can find some more used ones I'll give them a go but most I see for sale are too wide, dont want to go bigger than 195/50/15

Phil, so offer me a deal i can't refuse on some federal 595RS-Rs in 205/45/R16 - or any other semi you can find in that size. If you're going to complain about the odd size (anything in 16" is odd these days), i've heard it before and been through it myself but i'm not buying new wheels. So yes, i will consider other sizes but i don't want to/can't go any bigger on rolling diameter and can't fit any more width in - rears are rolled to fit these and have <5mm strut clearance, and fronts have rubbed through splash guard and paint on swaybar.

Oh and i need them delivered before the weekend.

Also, forgot to say yesterday - cuzzo, soft.

One week! holy shit that means this weekends jobs are...

(Ordered from Must do to Fuck it she'll be right)
    Fab a new seat rail.
Drill some holes for harness mounts
Swap rotors, callipers and pads of the road car cause I havent been able to find any decent pads on short notice (4 weeks is short notice for Adub pads apparently)
    RBF600 brake fluid swap.
Tweak the ride heights to TRD's specs.
More bending of front guards for clearance.
Bit of trimming on front splitter and canards.
Finish off and paint half sanded back engine and frunk lid.
    Tape up wiring loom.
Can't remember if I put any gearbox oil in or not... better double-check that.
Any time left i'll patch a few zorst leaks.

Booked in for alignment and corner weighting on the Thursday morning which is a $100 flat bed job to get it there then the work done.
Then pick up $200+ hire trailer to pick it up and bring to wakefield late Thursday arvo.
This was supposed to be a cheap track basher but faaaarkkk it's working out shitloads more expensive that all those times taking the road car.
Hopefully the engine doesn't fall out till at least one of the arvo sessions.

Wat. Wouldn't it be easier to just put new fluid in?? I know costs are becoming an issue but this is taking it too far.

    Fuck yeah, TGP caliper rebuild kit showed up today. That's the last of the parts I need;

    EBD redstuff
    Slotted RDA rotors
    RBF660 fluid
    Caliper rebuild kit

    Extractors and exhaust is done
Just need to buy some Redline MTL and some cheap synthetic oil that will cope with 130c oil temps. After that, tidy up things which could fail and see about some tyres.

Syne not explained well but pads in the trAck car are an unknown and judging by the rest of the car the prev owner would not have had anything special in there.
So pUlling the qfm pads from the road car but don't wanna swap half worn pads into different calipers and rotors cause they are 'worn in' to that setup.
So just gonna swap the lot over.
Also calipers have been rebuilt so would rather use those in the track car anyway.
Took me ages to get the brakes good enough to last all day down there... And I have a pretty soft braking driving style.
Got 3 bottles of Rbf600 ready to go already to fully flush this car then top up the road car.

Hey, not to be rude, but just cause it's on the net don't mean it's cheap.
I spoke with Garth late today, he has a set organized thru his local, um a little cheaper than that shit hot net price, but fitted and balanced and no freight. I offered him my cost, which worked out just under 40 per tyre than mentioned above, but then you have to fit - most tyre shops will charge you 25 each if you bring your own tyres. I am in business, but I am willing to help you guys out when I can.

I struggle with pricing on some tyres, yes I buy from the kebab shop in syd (the other one st George tyres). Have bought kumho v70a and Toyo r888, way cheaper than Toyo or kumho would give me. Federals I do alright on, and I could beat any of those prices. If you have a way of fitting ( you know someone - or someone that won't charge too much) and you are willing to pick up I can help you guys out.

Sometimes you just have to pay, $460 per tyre then $120 I think to have them pre stressed (zapped). Hopefully this set of tyres will be just sprints and last a couple of years and the wife won't realize.

I have always said I would, most motorsport stuff is a locked market, if I can get it at a good/better price I will tell you, if I can't I can guide you. I am not in syd, I'm the other side of Bathurst hence no full service bit.

Fucking oath, I remember a while back they were spreading the story that the owner of Option1 was the cousin of some Kumho director in Australia and had special mates rates pricing.......... yeah fuck off. My brother walked into a tyre shop in Sydney and got KU31/KU36 like $15 cheaper than they were offering. The sad thing was that people were buying the story and having tyres freighted from Queensland + paying for fitting
