dodgy earth strap and earthing connector (usually on intake manifold somewhere) for the main engine loom.
Erratic injection signals could indicate the CAS is not providing a good (if any) signal.

I thought the CAS getting interference would have a lot more affect on ignition rather than fuel. That is how I used to run the wolf with no CAS signal going to it at all.
Would the ignition require the trigger signal? or does it solely operate via the single sync tooths signal?
I had a play with my grounds, which didn't unfortunatly, also by main engine loom are you refering to the EMS loom or the standard toyota loom?
ignition requires both the sync and the trigger unless it has a distributer, so does fuel unless its single point.
Sounds like interference on the cas signal. Do you have a RPM reading somewhere from the EMS what does it say?
??? Well as the rpm is showing does that mean that the sync and ref are being correctly read by the EMS?
I hope you get this sorted very soon mate as it seems like forever you have been trying to get this to work.
Also, don’t think it matters to your starting issue but what is the deal with the temp sensors during cranking? I suppose as long as they go back to normal when it is running it should be fine.
yer the temp sensors go stupid during crank for some reason, but i'm pretty sure once kicked over they settle down.
Is it just me, or does that injector time seem both wierd (2ms while doing nothing) and high (6.5ms)
I'll have to datalog a start on the Microtech for you.
But those temp sensors should be reading normal while cranking, thats wierd.
Sounds like grounding issues.
Was it actually 8-12deg when you did that?

wasn't checking on that crank, but i think form past testing it sits on 10..
I just reinstalled and connected up all the spark plugs and injectors, after a few unsucsessful cranks there was a loudish decompressing noise from one of the cylinders, normal?![]()
How long do you normally hold the key down for?

depends, but at the longest about 5 seconds
5 sec should be more than enough to start even the worst ecu.

The way those sensors go nuts, I'd also put my money on some bad earthing.

well that'll be the next task, going over all the grounds in the engine bay. Any suggestions on which to look at first? I have the water and air temp currently grounded to the same spot as the coil pack holder earth lead. TPS is grounded to another bolt on the head (one that goes through the throttle cable holder) the CAS ground runs through the 4 core sheilded cable and then connects to the coiled sheilding wire at the EMS end.
I gave the block ground a good going over with a wire brush on the end of a powerdrill, i have the brown and white ground leads from the original loom connected under the intake manifold (where thechuckster said)
I know there are a few more in the engine bay, but they are the only ones i can think of off the top of my head.
