    1ST PIC
Crank angle sensor (maybe) or an injector plug
    water temp sensor (for ecu)
(possibly) powersteering rack for progressive power steering
    water temp sensor (for dash)

    2 might be air con

rest of them cant tell much as i have no idea where it is in relation to where it is on the loom... usually that gives you some hints to what goes where...

    Thanks for that.
The first plug I dont think is injector related, I already have all them plugged in, crank angle maybe, where is that located on the block?
The water temp sensor plug Im guessing has the matching plug on the radiator? Is this required to run the engine or does it simply tell the guage what to read?
Power steering plug is not need so thats good.
Water temp sensor for dash is comunicating the signal from the ecu to the dash? Again Im guessing no need to connect?
No 2, nope not aircon, got that already.
No 6, I found is the Hydraulic fan thermistor connection, which leads me to another question,
I am using electric fans, can I simply delete the hydro fan ecu and plugs altogether without consequence?
    Thanks again.

Crank sensor is located down behind the alternator... Gets a reading from the trigger wheel which is located on the crank at the front of the motor... Will be hidden by the balancer and alternator...

Water temp sensor goes into the thermostat housing to the left of the cam gears when looking from the front...
The single wire one for dash also goes here...

If its not air con might possibly be for a o2 sensor but cant really tell just taking a stab in the dark and i dont think this is correct as i dont believe they are a 4 wire sensor.

Using electric fans should allow you to delete anything relating to hydro fan... I wouldnt hack plugs off just yet but just ziptie them out of the way of anything until you get it all running

Ok, narrowed the field down somewhat, bar one or two.
I ended up tracing each plug back through the loom (yucky, slimy, grimy, sticky ,icky etc..) to its origin in the plug. By cross referencing with eleventybillion printouts from various sources I managed to eliminate all bar 2 plugs.
One I think is something to do with the power steering pump ,the other only surfaced when I was rumaging through my box of bits the loom came in.

My first thought was something to do with oil pressure, no plugs to speak of, just a shiny metal dome under the plastic hat ,any ideas?

to the right is fuel pressure dampener

left thing is voltage actuated air valve. They are used to control boost pressure, charcoal canister purge. As I can recall, only one actuator is used with single turbo setup (vvti 1j)
