I think I remember where I saw the test fitment pics now, it was on the 9000rpm.net forums.

Also couldn't stock pistons be used just with shorter rods? what have a crap rod to stroke ratio

Yer I thought about that... the rod/stroke would be terrible like you said though, and I don't think there is any rods that fit exactly, on 9000rpm I think there's a 9age using rods from a honda engine and ca18det pistons, that might work. Might. I just want to know if the 1zzfe crank fits/would work/its dimensions before I bother going any further though, because I would not bother trying if I had to worry about a reground 7afe crank breaking :/. Probably, I hate forums which require you to register to just browse though so maybe not xD. I made an account though to check and its waiting on being added.

While the idea of a reliable 9age (or 9agze) is why I started this thread, I am more worried about the crank then anything else, there's quite a few options rod wise and you can always get custom pistons. There's three options with cranks as I see it, a 1zzfe one, a offset ground 7afe one, or a custom billet one that costs over 9000 dollars (well, I was quoted $4000). I would worry about a cast (I think) 7afe one breaking, hence the 1zzfe crank becoming the priority.

Edit: To clarify, it can be done, people have proved that. It's reliability and price that is the main problem.
