any news cuts?
It had a couple of kicks today for the first time since ive been playing with it.
Swapping to another fpr is next on the list for sure.
I cant remember if it has one or not, ill check when im there next.
any news cuts?
1983 Toyota Celica Supra
Update? Or has this 1 gone to Toymota Heaven?![]()
I got the person whos place it currently resides to get another fuel pressure reg and put that in, they ended up getting the whole rail (no injectors). But only swapped over the reg. When they first started it after it was fitted it ran fine for a couple of minutes then just got progressivly worse untill it stopped. Then wouldnt start again. Put the gauge back on and it once again read high fuel pressure.
I wasnt there for any of that, its just what ive been told.
I'de like to see the whole rail swapped over. But it got me thinking, do these camrys have a low and hi setting for the fuel pump?
Is the C/O relay fully plugged in? sounds like the pump is shutting down.
3SFE drives the pump via the C/O relay - can't find my manual to check whether it has a hi-low setting but would be obvious in the engine bay (2nd resistor pack under/near the battery - much like the 185)
The issue (maybe one of the issues) is TOO MUCH fuel pressure, so thats why I was thinking its perhaps staying on the HI setting all the time.
Shouldn't matter if it's low or high if the fuel pressure regulator is doing its job... (regarding high pressure)
My Levin has the low/high setting too, the low setting is just used at idle and cruise when there isn't as much demand on the fuel, makes driving less noisy and the pump lasts longer etc.

This is true, I next wanted to get the whole rail swapped over.
