    Default 200rwkw 4agte???

My neighbour is looking at getting about 200rwkw out of a turbo 4age. After a bit of searching here and elsewhere I think this might get it done....

    GZE pistons
    430cc injectors (7mgte, I believe bolt in)
    GT28xx turbo
    steam pipe manifold
    3 litre plenum
    Bosch coils
    Microtech ecu

    20ish psi

    Thoughts?????

revs, good tuning... and more revs (and decent size IC as heatsink)

nah, after a few calcs, around 8000rpm and 20psi should do it at wheels

The disco potato should easily sustain 200rwkw with that setup which you have there.
Just ensure your fuel delivery is enough.

That would be pushing the 7MGTE injectors pretty hard if your chasing 200+ the 550cc "13B Turbo" injectors might be a better choice and will give you a bit more head room.

    Good luck with it.

Not necessarily, more than 200rwkw i would be suggesting cams, but before then just shove more fuel/air into the guts.

And this is exactly why forced induction is cheating

    Bah sif
The 4A breathes enough with the stock cams to support 200rwkw, after that cams are fair game.

Like any engine, the best is to lower the revs and boost needed to make the same power!
Cam's, verniers and head work, boosting spark, comp for the given boost you will want in the end etc go to making an engine that gets the power at a lower rev with lower boost!
You can get amazing power with boost from stock old engines, but you wont get saftey margin and it wont last as long

a good HG and get some compression going might help u get there .. but this would contradict kingmick as a thicker HG is associated with lower comp ratio to safely run higher boost levels... (?)

A good quality headgasket and a thicker than standard headgasket are not necessarily the same thing (which your strangely constructed post would imply.......I think? ). Kingmick indicated that he should select a compression ratio to suit the desired boost, not necessarily that he lower or raise it

Provided the guy gets the car tuned well it'll get close to 200 with what he said even with a standard inlet manifold.

I forgot to say earlier too that the 7MGTE injectors are a direct replacement as are the 550cc 13B injectors. I currently run the 7MGTE injectors, all my mates run/ran the 550's on their 4AGTEs.

    much less than 200

I run a T28 (a very small one) with the 0.48 exhaust housing which is good for ~170rwkw and not a watt more

I have been hesitant to change turbos to chase more peak power as I have excellent boost reponse on mine at the moment, any other turbo will move the point at which I reach peak boost to later in the RPM - which is not what I want (increased peak power at the detriment to the rest of the power curve and dyno comps don't appeal to me at the moment).

So for what I do with my car it works well with the current setup
