i think the way most people do it is to get the weld on coil-over kits (at least that is how i'm going to do it) and they just modify the original struts.
hi, i have a ta22 75' celica, and am looking for a set of fully adjustable coil overs, but no one seems to make a set or have anything listed for them? i was wondering if anyone would know what i could cross reference it with? would a set for a ae86 fit? fronts and rears?

you mean as in weld adjustable spring mounts to the diff? http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/tec...ring-help.html , do you know if the ae86 front struts and the ta22 front struts are the same bolt up? would these fit?http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/oto...available.html
Sorry i was talking about the front end. not sure about the rear end going to coilovers. i'm just going to get some good shocks and springs i think.

Two options off the top of my head;
Hiluz, Pug, Corona combo, also gives a decent brake upgrade, or
XT130 corona, weld on sleeves and suitable springs, Koni shocks.

i was considering converting to a hilux diff, lsd, dont know how different the suspension mounts are, but if i have to modify them i will
almost everything off a rwd toyota with struts can fit without much issues
How much are you spending?
What are you using the car for?
Front end, as said before, use a weld on conversion kit from otmoto, and while you are at it use a strut that gives you better insert options like this:

Alternatively if you just want to buy them off the shelf, try this:
AJPS - AJPS Coilovers
As for your rear, your top shock mounts are not theoretically designed to take the load of a coil-over shock, so they will need beefing up if you intend putting the whole suspension load through them.
An easier solution might be something like this:
AJPS - AJPS Rear Spring Seat
I've actually been keeping a bit of an eye on this and doing some thinking.
Just to compare prices...
Weld on/AJPS option
weld on kit - AJPS - AJPS Coilover Kits - $279 pr.
adjustable rear spring seats - AJPS - AJPS Shifter Rebuild Kit T50 - $279 pr.
springs - $199 pr. x 2 - $398
RCA - AJPS - RCA (roll centre adjusters) - $150 pr.
camber tops - AJPS - Cusco - $349 pr.
with NO SHOCKS we are already up to $1450
Add adjustable shocks at anywhere from $300pr to like $800 pr and we are talking some serious coin (lower end is probably equiv to the HSD option)
AND then someone needs to put it all together inc. welding (which must either be tested or be done by a certified welder to be legal)
HSD coilover option
http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/oto...available.html - complete setup - ~1899 (seen it around cheaper)
...
I know what option i would choose (and probably will)

The shock tunnel in a TA22 is too narrow for the Techno Toy Tuning rear AE86 coil overs so you might find it's the same for the HSD one's and them not fitting. Besides, you'll need to strengthen the diff and body mounts to cope with the full weight being placed on them.
There are many indepth threads on both front and rear suspension and brake upgrades for TA22's, including ones with measurements, costs etc. Have a search and most if not all of what you are asking should be covered.

the rears aren't coilovers. they are an adjustable spring mount (like the AJPS one) and a shock.

This is my front end setup currently (Not very smooth over the bumps mind you)
-Cusco Camber tops
-Bilstein Inserts
-8kg springs (will go 10kg's soon)
-RX7 4 spots
-RCA's
-Techno-Toy-Tuning Caster rods
-Techno-Toy-Tuning Lower control Arms
Strut is from a KE70
Also not pictured as it was installed later is a Whitline Front SwayBar. Money very well spent.
That's about as far as you can go, but I'm working out if I can fit a 6-Piston caliper under the 15" rims I run. Chris (Takai) has been doing some good work here fitting a 300mm rotor under 15" rims.
Cheers

P.S: Lawson (of AJPS fame) is a bastard, but he's the right kind of bastard. Cheers for the kit, it works a treat![]()

iv heard that the stub axles on an old toyota, and an old holden are the same, therefore the commodore brake conversions fit, as for suspension, i think i like the off-the-shelf options, it is a lot less work an bolt up,
but how do they go going thru roadworthy? will they pass vic legislation?
i am planing on having an allrounder car, show, track, an registerable,
so far getting a lot of thoughts out of this thread
