some good quotes up there Duk, I might try and find the book to have a read. Are those ratios for water and main fuel injection or is that a water/meth (fuel) mixture? I think the first yeah?

Yes I believe it to be straight water.
Please do buy the book, the author Greg shares a lot of information on the web and he deserves some support.

I haven't posted it here, but there are some numbers/examples in the book that show what sort of power levels that can be attained by being able to force feed an engine that has water injection. The water's ability to raise the knock level means that some of the figures are damn impressive!

And 'NO' I don't get a commission on book sales

Well thanks chaps for all of your valued input,i have decided to use WI preturbo to examine the effect. This was originally being done to get rid of fmic and to try to combat the elements of the far North(HEAT/HUMIDITY).As for wear and tear on comp wheel is not a real concern, as i have not seen enough evidence to show that properly atomised water/meth at 200psi from quality gear has this effect.
I am going to use one of "The Devils Own stage 1 universal Kits" $240 plus post and the kit is of very high Quality, their forum helpful and RnD seemed solid and shared through out the WI community.

    again thank you
feel free to joust on about WI, so much to learn

I would have both. Intercoolers are more effective at increasing air density and so power. Use water injection for its knock reduction ability so you can either use lower octane fuel or if you have the facilities to do so, add ignition advance and lean out the AFR's to gain extra power.

Hey Duk,by add some ignition advance do you mean adjust base timing say from 10 degrees to 14?(Latter figure plucked from air).
Intercooler may go back on with different route(shorter),could you elaborate on the IC helping to create denser air?(aides further cooling)

    Cheers Amon

cold air is denser - about as simple as it gets. The IC is an actual heat exchanger, so is quite effective at removing heat. Evapouration is not as good so doesn't take out much heat pre cylinder. Maths - density = pressure/('r'xtemp)- i.e. the bigger the value on the bottom, smaller the density.

Be careful with your base timing and stock ecu - your timing map is calculated from the base value and not actual values. If you advance the base timing, it will advance the whole the map.

You really should only have added ignition advance when the water injection is active rather than just winding in some extra base ignition timing. Obviously that would require either some sort of interceptor or a new programmable computer.
