LSD shafts are different to non LSD as they are shorter. If you've used non lsd shafts don't be too surprised if the lsd is fubar too.
I recently installed a C56 with Factory LSD in a BigPort AE92.
When front wheels are in the air (both in gear & in Neutral) they can be turned by hand.
When the car is on the ground it won't budge. Only thing I can think of is that the splines on one/both shafts may be jamming due to incorrect alignment (they went in OK, so I didn't think there would be any grey area here).
Lateral movement of the longer shaft is constrained by the support bearing/bracket fastened to the block; otherwise all seems @ C52.
One thing though; when I look at where drive-shafts enter gearbox, both dust covers are sitting about 8-10mm proud of the casing which doesn't seem right, as obviously you would expect them to sit hard against the gearbox.
Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

If that was the case I would have the opposite issue; i.e. I would hve had trouble putting the shafts in because they are too long and the inner dust cover would be hard against the inside of the box. The shafts I have seem if anything, too short. . .
I bought the Box & shafts as a set from a 1995 AE111 BZG so would be surprised if they were incorrect. In any case I checked in ToyoDIY and there are only two types of shafts listed; ABS and non ABS, so the only difference would then be the ABS ring.

I used the shafts from my AE111 BZ-G cut wtih LSD C56 in the AE92 conversion I did years ago, there were no issues with the shafts binding etc, they seated correctly in the box also.
Its all good; just me being bloody paranoid. The "grinding" I heard was just due to the fact I still hadn't wound out the tie rods enough after putting in the AE111 Steering rack. . .yep, that's right; the tyres were scrubbing. . . .
