We were seriously looking at this combination for my brothers Sprinter. We're going 4AGZE bottom end and turbo route now though.

I have been in a new RX8, and thought even in a car ~350(?) kg heavier, it went quiet well. The 13B would be easy to set nicely back in the engine bay as well.

You would also need, engine mounts g/box crossmember, oil cooler and rebuilt radiator and a thermo fan. Plus all the usual bits and pieces. Most of the aftermarket ECU's will also run the oil metering and variable length manifold 'bits'.

They are not a bad engine, and I think it would pull the Corona along nicely.

    Just me 2 bob worth.

    Cheers

I briefly had the idea of seeing what I could get out of the 22R, all in the name of fun of course, but I just can't convince myself to do it when there's an unloved 1UZ already sitting around the place. It's still something I'd be slightly interested in though - if you do decide to mess with your 22R, I'd be interested to see how far you go with it.

this is true. Still want an XR6T motor tho

    its a 22RE

2.4L fuel injected as appose to the 2.0L carby you would normally find.
yes, i own a car, it has four wheels and an engine. and in the end, isn't that what really matters

have fun finding a 2L carbie motor in a RT-142 , they all have 22re's , the St-141 howevere will have plenty of 2L carbie motors

No i was more poiting at the fact you said its a 2.4L RT142 which is uncommon, all RT142's run the 22re, its the St141 that has the 2L carby motor.

Sif its hard, I know of about 3 cars almost identical to mine within say a 1km radius of my house, theres also an SR floating round my area.

The day I had my GZE dynoed, A VN 5L was also dynoed.

    4AGE pulled 88kw, 240nm
    VN5L pulled 95kw, 260nm.

Needless to say, my disappointment at the mere 88kw was cured.
    Holden engines are somewhat tragic.

I'm pretty sure only the HSV's had 165kW back then, the garden variety VN's were a fair bit less.
