dave. If you live near Brisbane there is a EMS service centre at Slacks Creek, South of Brisbane, I haven't got details at hand but look at EMS website www.fuel-injection.com and click on Australia link. You will find it there. Otherwise I can get details tonight for you.

Thanks mate, I think that's KP performance, have spoken to Kevin there before, they mainly deal in RX7's but they do know the EMS ECU's really well.

First thing this morning I called Peter from EMS in Sydney, he said I should also do data logging and even just free revving in the driveway should be enough, so that has been done and below is the log file. To open it you will need to use the Stinger v3 software I linked to on the first page of this thread, just goto the Data Logging section of the software and then select read from file.

    free rev data log file

I basicly just revved it about 3 times to make sure the turbo kicked in and also the RPM on the dash would drop, I was not able to look at the laptop at the time to see if it dropped on there but the logs show what happened. On the dash when boost would come on right away the RPM gauge would drop between 1500rpm to 2000rpm until I took my foot off.

It does look like the RPM signal in the ECU is also dropping like I see on the dash, notice when the boost comes on the timing drops right back to 15 in the ECU. I really don't have a great idea at what I am looking at, but would love to hear what you guy's think of this data log.

Myself looking at those logs I think I can see the timing retard when the boost comes on. I am going to do one quick small drive around the block this afternoon, because once the boost comes on I can hold it for a little longer and the RPM drop holds for much longer and will make a better log to have a look at.

Ok just got back from the drive and made a few log files, below are the best ones. Just note in the EMS data logger they read from the bottom up time wise. Also if you load up the file and don't get the scroll bar on the right just re-open the file, think it's a bug in their software.

    Run #2
    Run #3
    Run #5

I had a mate in the car that was looking at the RPM gauge on the Laptop in the EMS software and it def did not drop when the dash did, the bloody dash would drop to almost zero RPM when the boost came on.

I can't see anything majorly abnormal from the log files, would love to hear what you guy's think. Something I did notice though was the RPM's on some of the logs when the boost was building would stay around the same or even drop a little bit, see if you can find some of the ones I mean.

Anyway hope you guy's might be able to make out something from the logs.

If you have a friend with an oscilliscope, measure the trigger signals. This link document is a good guide on reluctor triggers: http://www.linkecu.com/support/docum...-tech-note.pdf

Thanks for the info JP, I don't think I know anyone with an oscilliscope but if EMS tell me a place they think I should try and take it too I will ask them about it.

The logs didn't scream out problems, but there was a couple of runs where I don't think the RPM in there was correct and that wiring really should be checked.

Sorry Drew, think I forgot to upload to the server, the links should be working now.

Let me know if you see anything strange in there.

also this should help you, I think you said you were using a 4AGZE CAS

    http://www.linkecu.com/support/docum..._download/file

grab it as well before you call me today if possible, you will need a multimeter or a continuity tester handy if possible.

also from the looks of your config setup in your ecu, your accel enrichment is enabled, but it wont be doing sweet fuck all without a TPS. Really need to hook it up too mate.

I can assist with re-connecting your LC1 too over the phone today if you have time. Hopefully your sensor is not FUBAR now though.

As being able to log AFR and TPS with your RPM and manifold pressure will give us all a better picture of what is going on.

Ok let the testing begin. RT40 made me up a new ignition MAP today to test in it tomorrow morning, we are about to find out if the MAP's are the major part of the problem or not.

Will post up tomorrow how it all goes, thanks again RT40 for that MAP man.

    No worries.

Just remember that it was quickly done and should advance and retard the timing correctly, it will need fine tuning though, but should point you in the right direction. I think the main problem you have is it is way too retarded under boost conditions.

    Time will tell

Yeah retarded like the mechanic I got it back from, sorry I could not resist.

Fingers crossed, will enter the fuel MAP settings into your file like you said and upload to the ECU tomorrow morning before the test drive.

Well RT40 and I played around with the ignition MAP's today without much success.

The guy that owned the car before me got in contact today to say he should be able to send me the original MAP's that were in the car when I got it, at least with this we can confirm if the MAP's are the problem or not.

Will post up the results once I have loaded up the original MAP's and taken it for a drive.
