Default Etiquette - Possible sticky for classifieds

I've bought and sold a bit of stuff through this forum and over the net in other ways, and often the transactions have gone smoothly, while others have been not so smooth. I think some people may not realise that good communication between buyer and seller is very important. So would it be possible to sticky a suggested recipe for buying/selling at the top of the classified forums.

    For example something like:

    SELLER
    - Give ALL details you know of item
    - Give photos if possible
    - If you want a certain price, set it.
    - If a potential buyer gets in touch let them know whether you will sell to them, have taken a desposit from someone else, already sold it, etc...
    - Let the successful buyer know when you will send the item
    - Be in touch if anything changes
    - Thank buyer for buying

    BUYER
    - Only trouble a seller if you are serious about purchasing or have questions WHICH CANT BE ANSWERED WITH BASIC RESEARCH YOURSELF.
    - Pay for the item promptly
    - Let the seller know when an item arrives
    - Thank seller for selling to you

That second last one particularly annoys me. I often post things off, then hear nothing more.

I know its basic manners and I know that a lot of people would still not read it, even if stickied, however it may be worth a try.

    Thanks
    Hen

although i agree with you i have only had one bad run in with a person on this forum.

every one that i have succesfully brought something off has been great and the discription of the item for sale was spot on and truthful.

also i have thanked the seller and notifiyed them of the items arrival, and the seller has let me know when money was recived and items sent,

although this forum is not bad with buying/selling ediquate as only certain forum members have the right to sell, and all of the toymods members arent d1ckheads

but i totally agree with your thought and i think that if anybody has anything for sale they should use a template

    e.g

For sale: Choose EITHER For sale or Wanted & list item.
Item Condition: describe in detail, be accurate and honest
Price and price conditions: self explanatory, if you are or are not willing to separate, you must specify
Extra Info: any other details you wish to mention
Pictures: if you cannot get pictures, please state to avoid people asking for it
Contact Details: PM, phone, email etc
    Location: absolute must
Delivery & Conditions of Delivery: eg pickup only, courier interstate,

As far as I know, there is a template in the making.

Its just one of those things that keeps getting pushed back in importance.

Template would be awesome, but like many other forums, many newbies wouldn't use it.

I thought newbies weren't able to post in the classifieds but this must have been lifted as I have seen people on 10 rep with threads started.

Newbie's cannot post in the Classifieds, and I'd say any thread created without the use of the template will be deleted.

to post in classifieds and have full access of the forums (e.g 500 msgs in PM box)
you have to have 30+ rep or be a member of the toymods car club.

OK i can't for the life of me figure out where you go the 500 msgs in your PM box from???
you have to be a privilages member to use the classifieds section...

Privileged status is bestowed upon a user once they achieve 3 milestones:
    1. They have been registered on the forums for over 30 days
    2. They make over 100 posts in the Tech and General sections
    3. The attain a reputation of 30.

oh and if your a club member you have privileged status already.

Forums members of privileged status have the ability to hold 500 PM's in thier inbox.
Non-privileged status members can only hold 50 or so.

Just to put this thread to rest.

A template for the classifieds was look at when we first changed software.
We can create a template, but not just for just the classifieds section when you hit the "New thread" button. If we created a template, it would come up in every section.

    Therefore we cannot do it.
Maybe in a future update this may become possible, but at moment, not so.

PS, posting priveliges in the Classified section is now listed in the announcement at the top of each of those relevant sections.
