hey guys,
anyone know a tuner in Melbourne who can tune a mesgasquirt 3 (with MSx and boost control)? Ive street tuned it so far, but i wanna get the power tune done on a dyno
did you put silicon in the base around the wires to stop it flapping?
and yup, standard commonwhore

Any GOOD tuner should be able to pickup how to tune the MS pretty quick![]()
thats what i thought, but what about the boost control? should i just adjust that myself to suit the boost i want to run and then ask them to tune it from there?
Personally, I'd spend the time myself tuning the Closed Loop Boost control as out lined in the MS3 manuals (http://msextra.com/doc/ms3/Boost_Control.html).
Set it up so it it will only ever boost as high as you want the setup to run, with a good PID setup, your tuner shouldn't run into any issues with it over boosting or creeping. Plus you have an array of over boost protection settings in the MS3.
If you've done all the ground work (WAE, Boost Control PID, AFR Tables, etc etc), the tuner should only have to tune fuel and ignition, if they can't do that on the MS, I wouldn't be letting them do anything else on my car![]()
yeh i agree with u man. Ill continue to get the boost settings correct and then once thats all sorted and all i have left is the timing map (to perfect) ill start calling around
Drawing up a wiring diagram for my rather complicated MS3+MS3X+TinyIOx install.
Ugh... sooo much to consider![]()

Let us know what your experiences with the Tiny IOx are, I've been half tempted to use one of these to add some extra features to my DIYPNP![]()
I will do if it ever arrives.
He sent it via regular postage from Canada
No tracking, etc and Canada Post have a worse reputation than USPS.
It should do the job well.
The only issue i see is that Jean's documentation for them is almost squat.
With that said though, he does reply to questions.
Ill be using it for the LC1 interface, a few pressure sensors and EGT.

I have to agree, Jean is pretty slack on documentation and updating his website to display his new products... The TinyIOx has been "available" since March, but it still isn't on his site.
I'm keen to try one for addition sensors like oil pressure / temp, EGT, Pre & Post water temps.
Hi Guys,
I hope this is not an already frequently asked question...
Can the MegaSquirtIII with MS3X (not sure if there is any odds to the model) be programmed to read a 7 bar MAP sensor? My current aging Motec M4Pro cannot be told KPA/voltage settings for any higher than a 5 bar MAP sensor which will be a problem next time around on the race car. Readin the MS literature I can find that up to 4 bar map sensor is plug and play but would love to know if you can custom program for higher? The features and price of the MS unit are looking pretty attractive from where I'm viewing right now!!
Cheers,
Jason

There is a thread here on using a 7 Bar MAP sensor. http://msextra.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=43073
If I've read correctly, 400kpa is just a limit in the tuning software, you just edit the .ini files explained in the thread and increase it to 700kpa.
There is a comment on this being a simple drop down menu change in the MS3, but I don't have some to confirm.
Either way, it looks possible and you can use the standard MAP sensor for Baro correction![]()

Loom planning... ugh.
Im pretty sure im going to re-house the MS3, MS3X & TonyIOx into a different enclosure, and use IP67 alloy circular connectors (Hirose JR-W series) for the loom(s).
