If I had that notion I'd still have a T-series too Mind you, the way my car is running now, I'd say it'd sound like yours.

OK, here's some pics I took of today's event (yeah, I'd love a new camera):

    http://redhat.gene.id.au:9999/copper...lbum=130&pos=0

And I've just received the outright times, which are loaded here:

    http://redhat.gene.id.au:9999/copper...%20Results.xls

I'm afraid I didn't seem to be pulling in very good times today, while Luke was showing us how it should be done - well done.

Anyway, seems everyone enjoyed themselves, and it was great to see the old Celicas out in force.

Judging by what I saw today - you need it now.

Hey - not fair - I only slid through one garage with all 4 wheels locked up - and that was after you left !!!

But seriously, was I locking the rears before the fronts?

    Point.
I wonder what the story will be when the Hilux rear axle goes on...

Gene, can you please send me pic no. 24 of 27?

I can feel an avatar coming on!

Ultimate irony for me, being hosed by a well driven 18RC, which is the motor I turfed to fit the 1G-GZE....can anyone say - 'reality check' ?

Well done to everyone today - it was great fun, and Luke - no reason to swap that engine out until all us guys with rotaries, turbo's and superchargers can beat you!

I wouldn't go so far as to say you got 'hosed'. I think its more of a matter that you couldn't go as fast as you could have due to problems putting power to ground and other traction issues.
Especially since I was running Yoko Advans

Once you guys get LSD etc I imagine the results will be in you favour. Though dont worry, I plan to stick with the 18RC for a bit longer. I can still go faster in it, I just need to sort out the surge problems I am having with right hand corners. Maybe a better carbie. :\

You did very well mate, testimony to a well set-up car over any amount of horsepower the rest of us might think we have. I had some old R-comp tyres that I bought from Clint which helped me, but my handling could still be improved.
When I converted to an EFI set-up I had a MX62 fuel pick-up welded into the place where the std. round plate pick up went, giving me an 8mm pipe over the std. 6mm one, and directly underneath it, I had a 'well' welded into the bottom of the tank, to keep fuel near the filter sock. I'm not suffering any surge problems. If you are interested in doing this I can find the name of the guy who did this work for me.
    Cheers,
    Mitch.

Well done to all guys, thanks for putting on a good show

Damn willis Mitch, get that G-series in stat, with some LSD love so you can put that grunt down. I'm with Clint though, you may have only slid all 4 wheels into the garage once, but nearly every other time the rears locked up as they were unloaded. Same goes for Gene.

Everything else was great to watch guys I can't wait till next year when I've got my car happy (and have the budget) to get out there and mix it up with you guys.

Mad love to Matty's boat. Definetly the most entertaining. Who needs the front wheels to turn when you've got your right foot ey?

Mitch - that sounds like it might be the thing to try between now and the next event. I'll give it a go.

    cheers.

Nathan (AKA Frank), I assume you're talking about the diff in my case as I'm pretty sure I didn't have any rear wheel lockup problems with the original drums on the rear and discs on the front?

I'm going to see how the TRD LSD in the T-series goes first, and if I have problems, I'll start looking at diff options beyond that. I'd love to organise some better grip sometime too. Bloody money!

Luke, yep, you seem right. There's numbers missing from the positions. Send Norbert an email (I'll send one off later if you can't).

The rotary powered Celica is Ian's. Nice pearl white paintwork too. Was wondering where you were Damo I thought of messaging you in the afternoon, but I thought blah!
