I'm not sure. You want a 55mm diameter butterfly in the throttle body in any case.

If you want the plans for the adapter, I can send you the PDF file.

    Yeah definitely send the plans.

I got some extra TB's when I bought the levin 4agze, Some have broken butterflies & I know they're different sizes but have no idea what they came off.

Considering the engine was sat in this guys garage for 10years I'd say they'd be pretty old too.

    I'll take some photo's

No good, I took some photo's but soon found out, all I have is 2 spare 60mm ID throttle bodies that are identical to the one on my NA bigport intake

    Transmission: AUTO
    Year: 1984

& this is the 2nd OR 3rd generation that I'm looking for:

    Make/Model: Toyota Celica, ST162L 10/86-03/89
    Engine: 2.0
    Transmission: 5SPD
    Year: 1987

Or am I sh*t outta luck? ..That's all they have in stock at the mo'

BTW sexeh fab work on the adapter
    Waaaaay out, RA65 is a 3rd gen Celica (it'd also have a 2.4L, not a 2.0L), ST162 is 4th gen Celica. Neither of them will have a 3SGTE in them. For a factory-fitted 3SGTE you need a 4th, 5th or 6th-gen GT4 Celica (4th gen/ST165 will have the Gen1 3SGTE, 5th gen/ST185 will have the Gen2 3SGTE, and 6th gen/ST205 will have the Gen3), or a turbo SW20 MR2 (either Gen2 or Gen3 3SGTE depending on the year). Most of them won't be at your common-or-garden wreckers, you'll have to go to an import-wreckers.

They came in some other cars as well (like Caldinas), but the GT4s and MR2s are by far the most common of them (relatively).

Ohh, and as an aside, there is a little feature on the forums here called "multi-quote" - it allows you to reply to multiple posts in one. Please use it in the future so you don't post up half a dozen replies one after the other, it is quite annoying.

Try looking on other forums too, you're more likely to find someone stripping an engine there rather than a wreckers/importers who would be trying to sell their engines whole or as halfcuts.

Sounds good.. ..& I agree, I'm not a huge fan of the "WHAAPISSHHH!!!!" sound made by waste gates.

    Your results sound good.

So it's 3SGE TB, SC14, IC, NAintake.. Have you got any pics?
Was it transverse mount or north south?

3S TB is on the GE inlet after the IC but i recommend putting it before the SC, the ‘WHAAPISSHHH!!!!’ sound isn’t the problem it’s the sound of the whining SC through the open BOV. You can use a decent sized BOV as your bypass plumbed back into the intake between the TB and SC.

Here's a pic of the setup, it made 120kw@wheels and makes good power up to 8000rpm.

The 2nd and 3rd generation refers to the 3SGTE engine itself, not the car it's in....

    Hey Kev'

    I bit the bullet.
    Bought an sc14.
I'll be buying a welder too.
I have a strong fabrication background, so brackets & piping & a bit of maths will actually be an interesting challenge.

    Still renovating the shed.
    It's getting there.

Yeah - I'm still holding out for the right model with sunroof etc.. at bargain price or nearest offer...
got offered one in Adelaide but guy wanted top price for it - couldn't blame him. It was close to mint condition..

So when I get the shed finished if I don't have the body I'm looking for by then, I'll take some pics of the set up I've been doing in the shed, just out of interest as that's actually been big undertaking in itself.

Other than that all I've done is gradually cleaned all the rust off the flywheel with crc & wet & dry.

I know I could get it machined but I'm in no hurry.
Decided custom intake will be the way to go too.

    x2

I put the throttle after the SC on my 2TGEU (with SC14) and the noise the BOV makes when you are cruising at half throttle is a pain in the a$$. Currently moving the throttle to fix the problem.
