What are these sensor on 1JZGTE cylinder head?????

The sensors I am referring to are on the intake side of the head, between the inlet manifold and the head. They bolt to the side of the head just below the rocker cover with 2x 6mm bolts (10mm hex). There are 2, 1 about 1/2 way down the head and the other towards the rear of the head. What are they?, I need to remove and re-seal them as they are both leaking oil. So I need to know what they are so I dont kill them on removal.

yeh there cam angle sensors.. they send signals to the ecu what position the camshaft/valves are in, both the sensors are the same but you cant cross the plugs up

Its not a trick question, I am new to these motors. Anyways thanks for the info. One thing tho can they be removed without removing the inlet manifold??????

yes they can coem out with a small 10mm ring spanner
abit fiddly but ive changed the centre one many times
the back one is abit more pain i think

oil leak?
if its oil leak check rocker cover gasket first

Most likely the cam covers, pop em off, clean the seal, if its still good give it a shot with a spray gasket sealant and reinstall. Consider swapping to bolts or hex headed bolts at teh same time so you can tighten them easily but be careful not to tighten them too much (IE decent force with a ratchet) as you will tear the mount point clear off the cover. The ally isn't very pure and kind of brittle.
