nevermind
but dayum those bare internals
arrrrgh

...... butt scratcher?!
But seriously anything powered by a 18rgte will be awesome.![]()
Mntoyguy, let me know when I can buy one so I can get it and close the bottom of my motor up.
So far my long motor is about $6k in parts and labour. Not cheap, but should be reliable, and allow upgrade once the ct26 packs it in. Thinking something in the gt28 range. Oh, and mine is going in one of the sexiest machines evah.

Mntoyguy,
if you end up not making any at all i was thinking of asking toyota racing europe to see if they can reproduce a small batch but they would be hella pricey. hope you can get it done RGs everywhere depend on you
You guys are blowing me out.
I showed you how easy it is to make a high volume oil pump for an RG.
I am still flogging that one in my ute every day & its performance has remained the same.
TESTED & proven! Not angry yet, but it's getting close.
Get off ya butts & make the bastards!
Witzl has one. You are going to use that one in the motor shown above, are you Witz ?
Owen, The other one. The one who makes his own pump.![]()
Hi,
The other Owen - I think what you need to do here is make what you're doing seem really over complicated, expensive AND takes aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages to get anywhere with it, THEN people will be interested. Quick, simple, effective and cheap isn't what people want...........
If i had access to machining gear i'd have made what you'd come up with years ago as i realised just how simple these pumps are........that andi have spare 18rg pumps anyway

And i know i had a similar idea about 2 years prior to that. Just no machining gear available to do it with. While i was doing my cert III in CAD at tafe i drew it all up in inventor and had it work just fine.

Ah right as soon as i seen the pics i remembered
now say i had to pay a machine shop to make all the required bits how much would one asume it to cost.
Not sure if im going to use that pump at this stage, but I am certainly going to hang onto it.
That decision comes down to JMR, who at this stage has suggested it may not be necessary.
Im using a very modern ceramic ball bearing turbo (turbonetics TN450-BB), which does not require much oil flow..... and the rest of the engine has been built with tight tolerances.
I guess if we find oil flow rate is reduced, then we will look at using that pump.
...... butt scratcher?!
Hi,
Same here. Engine builder said the oil flow is ample for the engine and turbo set-up. The stock oil pump is pretty good on the 18R-G. The biggest issue is with the sump where, under certain track conditions, the engine can starve of oil as it sloshes about the sump. So, the most effective thing is to put baffles in the sump or use a dry sump system.
