Ok I've edited this post as I think I came over a little strong

Ok, ten year old production run...possibly, the production of 4age's finished in 2002.

Made in China or somewhere in between... Interesting theory, box says made in JAPAN by Toyota motor company, not Hionseng provence China by Bing Lee rubber ducky company.

Radius the oil journals...come on allencr the advantage would be miniscule for the time, effort and money, in the application I'm using it anyway, oil supply wont be a problem as I see it, crossdrilled with grooved bearings and wont see more than 8500 for short periods.

And "smegma" tearing up my bearings? By this do you mean the plastiguage? After I rechecked the clearance "across" the journal, and got the same measurement btw, the journals and bearing shells were wiped clean. The plastigauge can actually be left anyway as it is oil soluble.

there are at least 2 commercially available crank girdles for 4A motors in japan.

as for oil ports in journals, they can always be cleaned up.

There is a new 16v 4agte figure to date in NZ with a stock crank. Most likely custom rods and pistons.
This aw11 made 380kw atw, reving in the range of 9k and 28psi.

This power is all good, prob last on the road and drags etc. Put it on a race track at this power, lap after lap..... I duno how long it would take until you find all the big probs .

Mate's aussie built 2J single piece girdle cost under $1000. If you could draw it up in CAD it'll work out pretty cheap - ask someone to do all the hard work and you'll get ripped.

Excuse me if this is ignorant, but are these girdles simply flat plate cut to shape to bolt on to the mains? Seems like an awful lot of money for something that could be lasercut/waterjet from steel plate.

not ignorant, a good question I too am curious to what answers you get !

I am sure there is more behind it (ie. material used, etc, etc) but I am not knowledgeable in this field, so I will leave it up to the others to answer this.
