if you give a turbo car a heap of beans for a period of time the mani and turbo will glow, its normal

Turbo is fine had it checked at NTQ.
Would love to lower the heat. I'm thinking new radiator and FMIC, maybe oil cooler?
Thanks Cuts I needed that.
I had only driven it 30km @ 4-5psi but the last 7km (some on gravel roads) was the quickest.
I should stop opening the bonnet every time I turn the key off.
if its not overheating on the gauge then rad is fine.
front mount will only cool the air that gose in the engine .
it has nothing to do with cooling the turbo.
turbo is cooled by coolent from rad.
turbo floats on oil so it might do somthing but very little to cool it.
im sure it fine as i said mine was glowing red to cook the seals and also cracked the manifold.
i was trying to keep up with a evo 10 on windy roads .
trying that was.
think you will find that getting the exhaust in and out of there would have a better result.. the stock cast manifold and POS dump pipe can be improved immensly!
i would start with a tapered twin-drop dump pipe... (not one of those massive gaping holes that both the wastegate and exthaust dump into) it will help with boost control.. and less lag.. gains would be quite significant alsoas the cat would then be under the car and not mounted off the dump pipe...

Alright so I blocked the exit from the actuator and it runs fine with about 5psi boost.
So I brought a Turbotech boost controller and it does nothing. No matter how I adjust it the boost keeps rising until cut-off?
I took it off and the boost was fine, cutting at 5psi again. What the???
Anyone had similar issues???
sure you had it hooked up correctly?
As per instructions: straight through end to turbo, right angle to actuator???
It says on the instructions that its a fine tune, is there an exact position for the ball to block that little hole???
so when you put it on the boost controller on it just overboosts right up to the cut? no matter how much you unwind it?
Yep..
And if I take it off again and put a joiner in the hose its fine. Back to 5psi max boost. (not really fine eh)
well either the boost controller is no good, or its hooked up wrong,,,ooorrr its not adjusted all the way
can you get a pic to show how you connected it? maybe draw a quick diagram

The hose I cut is the one that goes from the turbo to the actuator.
The attached pic shows how I joined it to the hose.
yeah that looks right.
and you have tried adjusting the knob as fas as it goes in both directions
