    Default 3S-GTE Exhaust Temperature Sensor

I've brought an aftermaket manifold and dumpipe for my GT4 and I don't think the old heat sensor is going to come out of the old standard manifold.
I have replaced the old O2 sensor with one out of a '88-89 3s Camry.

Does anyone know of a cheap exhaust temp sensor option???

Do I need it??? I think it fine tunes the fuel:air ratio.

Does it matter that its going to be pre-cat not post-cat?

Its an EGO sensor... has nothing to do with heat.

Itll effect your engines lean cruise tune, so yes, you do need it.

As for a cheap replacement, im not sure, other guys on here will know.

It needs to be installed before the cat.

isn't there an O2 sensor at the top of the dump pipe and an EGW sensor down the bottom?

why won't the O2 sensor come of? they don't norm have any issues being removed, if the nut's have rusted on just cut them of with an angle grinder, most aftermarket dump's need bolts for the O2 sensor anyway.

    Guys....

I'm talking about the EGW sensor. I have already replaced the O2 sensor with one from a Camry....

    Cheers.

ah...well i have plenty of spare EGW sensors, yeh they take a bit of skill/patience to get out without screwing them.

if you want one lemme know, have for cost of postage, i'm not sure if they're needed tho. i know plenty of people that just leave them off

also they're post CAT, i don't think they have anything to do with fine tuning the AF's tho,

i know the EGW light comes on when the ALT is stuffed along with the battery light and some other one in the sw20 mr2's

Awesome thanks mate...however I read some stuff on ozcelica that is making me think its a waste of time.....

I brought a 9 stud manifold off a guy on ebay who said his dad had one on his 7 stud ADM Grp A motor and it fit fine.Mine is also a 7 stud motor. I don't know what brand the manifold is???
I then brought a dump pipe off another guy on ebay It will arrive tomorrow.
I know they're probably both rubbish quality but its all the budget allows...for now.

So then last night I was reading that some like an' some don't but more importantly, that they will do next to nothing for the car cause its pretty much stock with a 20 thou over bore...I was hoping it would help cool the turbo like Mattysshop said in my last post (much appreciated).

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated also.

Oh and if the consensus is put on the dumpy I'll send you some spons for a EGW. I probably should grab one anyways?

The sensor is just a cat temp sensor, some people just dont run them. Just try without it.

With the manifolds im going to assume its one of the thin walled stainless ones. They are prone to cracking just be aware of this. Wont crack in the welds it'k crack along the edge of the weld.

Also with the dump pipe make sure when you put it on the wastegate can open and close fully because the cheap ones have been known to jam the wastegate open.

nar just run without it, you might get a sensor light come up on the dash (looks kinda like a sauspan with heat waves comming off it)

you shoul get yourself a members ride thread going, whats your ozcelica username?
