yes you... i dont intend on using sticky tyres. the pressure plate is stronger then a normal uprated HD one?

It's a custom NPC clutch and pressure plate. Not sure on the actual clamping force, but somehow the clutch is able to withstand ~500ft lbs of torque.

what are the PPG gearsets rated too in horsepower does anyone know, cos if so id like to keep my w58 and put the PPG gearset in and run the 1.5jz up to 800hp......

obviously this project will be continuing for years to come just wondered how much abuse the PPG set can take

while i have this kettle of fish on the boil. the w58 will fit in a normal mx83 trans tunnel without bashing? as GX81 came with w5* from factory..? but r154 will need a heap of flogging.

AFAIK the w58 and R154 fit without tunnel bashing.. and the V160 just doesnt fit, maybe with tunnel chopping/modding....

R154 needs a bit of tunnel bashing in a Cressida to fit.
Not as much as most cars though.

They have in stock 2 x R154s @ $950 ea.

Expected this to be too good to be true... oddly enough rang them, they don't have stock of R154, only jza80 non turbo (ie... w58) - lo and behold, for $950 each. Said around 1200 for r154 when they do have them

IF they do have JZ r154 for $1200 that is still cheap. i dont know how they could actually sell them at that price and make money though.

My mate has bought 2 R154's in the past - one was just the box and it was $1500 delivered from the states (off ebay), the other was around $2500 from the toy shop in newcastle - but this was a full JZZ30 conversion kit including tailshaft, clutch, pedal box, lines, master cyl, etc.

As Bananaman said the wreckers here only want $1200 - so, since they probably source them from Japan howcome it is so hard to find one for a cheap price when you're at the source?

its hard to find one cheap at the source because they are not cheap anymore. 12months ago they where selling for around ￥45,000-￥60,000 now they seem to be going for ￥70,000-100,000.

there is one on ebay australia for $1800 buy it now, prob not such a bad price but doesnt look to come with any other bits.

there was one just recently that went from ￥12,000>73,000 in the last few hours. all others have high starting prices. however im watching another low starting price one at the moment.

maybe for a brand new w58.... we are only talking about buying the bellhousing new here and using a used box. well at leasat i am.
