haha okay thanks mate, i thought i was doing it the right way though because i am hitting 10 psi now and on stock boost i was only hitting 8 until i wound it out?

ill try winding it in and see what happens

ive also been told on z20soarer.org that it may be my bov letting the pressure out at a certain time which can be adjusted...

i just wound it in and tested it and im getting less boost now (8psi)

so i must of been doing it the right way..

can anyone connfirm the theory of the BOV letting out the air at a set pressure?

rubber stopper and a o ring clamp or something suitable to block the holes off once you remove the bov to not allow any airleaks

    ok cheers

my bov is adjustable so would it be easier to just adjust it and see if it makes a difference?

if its leaking, its doing so unpredictably, by removing it and blocking up the holes your testing to see if it is the cause of problem or if its somewhere else.

    yeah?

I don't necessarily want to run more boost, but I want to know that I'm able to if I choose to.

It bugs me knowing that there is a problem on my car and when its fixed and I'm able to raise boost I won't be setting it at stupid levels or anything like that anyway.

this will only happen IF the leak is obvious, if its a loose clamp it will be loosing boost but not sucking air off boost, the problem is the more boost your running through a loose clamp the more boost it will bleed, so it is quite possible the turbos are making 20psi, but because the clamp is leaking boost its only actually getting 10 at the manifold!

Thats strange that it gave you less boost.. maybe its not a ball and spring lol..

Actually my BOV is leaking atm too.. adjust it to the tightest setting tape it up, block it off.. whatever.. JUST WIND THE BOOST DOWN lol..

if your BOV is venting to atmosphere it will cause you trouble with the AFM, youll back fire and splutter. hopefully its recirculated back into the intake..

its a steep learning curve i know.. youll get use to it and then you can pick on the noobs lol..

you're wrong, if it's flow metered and you're losing 10psi then it will be running rich as a motherfucker
