I can come to this but I will meet you guys at Winton since I'll be coming from Albury. Any ETA when you guys will get there on the day? I would'nt mind staying the night at that guys place who said he could house 8 people.

Might be better to ask - who is actually meeting at 8am on the Saturday to "cruise" up together?

Its about a 2 hour drive from that meeting spot, so they would be there from 10am.

I suspect there will be others who turn up through out the weekend.

...i'd say with the cruise leaving Melb at around 8 you could comfortably say that they will be there by 10.....just look for the Celica banner on the hill on the front straight and Ian will be there at least

...yeah I will be there all weekend watching my brother race....hopefully his little blue Min will be towards the front of the pack in the fast group of Historic Touring Cars

    these are great events
    real cars , real racing
not the two brand taxi race that they are trying to force on us
that charger in the above piccy is unreal to watch , and is very quick as well , have a look at the skid marks from the rear wheels , that indicates how early he is putting the power down through that corner
edge of seat stuff , i think that pink charger was the one that was on fire last year , a loose fuel line sprayed fuel over the exhaust ,they got it running again for the next round , about an hour or so later
the last race on the sunday is always the best , as they go for broke , its pretty wild

Not trying to take the thread away from Ian
but this was discussed at the TCCA meeting
plan to meet at 8 am at shell Donnybrook
    leave about 9 am
(this allows for these young people that have trouble getting out of bed )
on that calcuation ETA at Winton would be more like 11 am

and as said above these historic guys are not scared to race

please let Ian know if your meeting at shell no point waiting for people that will not be there

    thanks van
a handy hint would be byo fold up chair
as after you have had a look at all the cars that are on display and in the pits , it does get tiring
we normally meet towards the end of the front straight
there should be a classic celica club banner up on the fence
(i havnt got a toyota club banner yet )
if i can get out there early enough i spread my shit around so there should be plenty of room
i plan to get away about 6:30 on sat morning that gets me there at 8 am

thats not a blue mini.... THIS is a blue mini:

car is currently in pieces but the logbook photo shows what it did/will look like.

    255 x 13 front tyres, 225 x 13 rear tyres, 175 hp at the treads, locked diff, 400kg wet.

I was a little concerned spending my weekend away since I've got alot of Uni assignments but I cannot miss this 1st time I've seen racing and best of all old school Muscle!

Just to make clear I'm staying both days.

Yea I thought that as well until a vic cop pulled me over and told me I have to follow my states laws. She gave me a warning which was nice.
