If it really is no trouble the 2deg would be cool.
The marking is 3V from a 1995 3vz-e 4runner.
sure you dont want me to add 2deg into it? piece of cake.
and so, whats the exact details on that bellhousing? from what model/year/engine and whats the stamping got on it there?
cheers

Does this thing have a trans mount? If so, please design up something for it for the new twist & fore/aft dimensions.
Also, with the different trans length, look at the drive/propeller shaft. Any chance of it bottoming out?
'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!
The new bellhousing and adapter plate will put the gearbox back in it's original location as the overall length of the bellhousing remains the same. So no problems there.
I will be making a new xmember for the gearbox mount.
Cheers
Joel
Hey Ed, is there any places in Syd you recommend getting this cut/machined? After someone who can do it quickly for a reasonable price.
Thanks
Joel

Adapter plate done! Water jet cut.. Still need to drill/tap holes. Only $60 for the 25mm bit and $25 for the locating section which I had done in 5mm thickness.

That's a decent chunk of alloy....what does the locating section do (locate what?)?

its a 2ndary locating shoulder for the a340 bellhousing. that bellhousing doesnt use dowels (very annoying), instead it uses this 215mm dia shoulder to axially fix itself (which is present on an a340 out of the box). i design the adapters so you index that piece to the main plate and tack it in position, saves relying solely on the bolts to maintain correct alignment. all my adapters use this trick, much much better than bolts alone. you could also use spring steel dowel pins in the bolt holes, but i like this way better. cant fuck it up!
edit - where did you get it cut? thats farkin cheap!
edit2 - can i use your pics?
cheers

I used v6 conversions in Moree. Just posted them the chunk of alloy and a few days later back came the adapter plate. Quick and cheap! Some quotes came back crazy prices.
Nice find on the machine shop.
When I lived there I had a housemate who was a boilermaker. The place he worked built about 25 semi trailers per year, so it makes sense that equipment like that is available out there. Probably gets used every day so chucking in a piece of alloy would be nothing.
Plus I know Peter Glennie used to spend a lot of money on his offroad racers, so there needed to be something for him to build with.
