Water lines / devices above top of radiator - 1uz filler point?

SO I've got myself some water lines that run from the heater outlets at the back of the motor to the turbo.

BUt because of positioning, the water lines end up going higher at points than the top of the radiator tanks and certainly the highest point on the motor.

Is this a problem? Should I have a reservoir higher than all those things with an electric water pump?

Or does it just pressurize and not become a problem? I can't imagine that being the case...

Suggestions?

Also, when filling a 1uz, I've noticed you can't fill it via the radiator because of where the water inlet/outlet is... I've seen a bolt above the thermostat housing that seems to do the job, is this how you fill them?

AND THEN - How the hell do you drain them?

I had the same problem with my Mark II, except that it was the factory heater line that was the highest but I found it wont be a problem as long as you bleed it properly. I did it by sitting a coke bottle in the top of the radiator and cutting the bottom off. Fill it up enough so that it becomes the highest point, that and parking on an inclined driveway helped.

This should be fine without any other reserviors as long as there is no leaks in the system to allow air in (such as a cracked hose).

The only other problem is removing the bottle and replacing the cap after you are done.

As for filling a 1UZ, I wouldnt have a clue but there shouldnt really be a reason why you cant fill it from the radiator. Also, what do you mean about the inlet/outlet location - they on the same tank or something? As for draining, doesnt your radiator have a drain plug, or are you referring to drain points on the engine?

the outlets from the motor to the rad are very high up on a 1u, which suggests that a bucket load of water will remain in the engine below the outlets and won't come out if you drain the rad..

There are 2 drain cocks on the block, one either side, 14mm bolt from memory.

Most factory 1UZ's need to be filled up from the bolt on top of the thermostat housing.
Most custom installations have the radiator filler higher though.
