If you're buying from the states then consider an online retailer (e.g. www.rockauto.com) rather than some random thief on eGay?
Hi guys,
Just joined the site a short time ago, as I recently picked up a 1992 Celica ST184R that had been in an accident. I've spent the last month and a bit fixing up all damaged/worn parts (mostly guess work, I've never done much more than superficial work on cars).
I need to change the top strut mounts, and Repco and places like that sell them for ridiculous prices; about $130 each!
On eBay I found an American seller selling a set of 2 for just over $100. My question is, will the strut mounts for an American Celica fit an Australian Celica? How can I find out if it's the same? I tried asking the seller but, lo and behold, there was no reply
Thanks in advance!
Jez

That's a handy site, thanks!
I just wanted to ask to see if anyone knew off hand whether or not it was different. If they are the same, then I'll have to shop around a bit more. Where could I compare the part numbers?
To compare part numbers use http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/ .
I do know that fronts of ST185 are the same as ST184 if that helps at all.

Thanks so much for that site! I've immediately put that in my favorites, I can see me using that quite a lot.
Well the part numbers for the North American Celica and the Australian Celica are exactly the same. I'll take that to mean that I should be fine buying the parts from America. I'll start researching prices in Aus and over there now.
Thanks so much for all your help guys!!

It was only the fronts that I needed, probably should have mentioned that in the original post
I did end up buying them from RockAuto, hopefully they'll be here in the next couple of days.
Thanks again for all your help guys! I'm sure I'll be back on here racking your brains again soon!![]()
jezVTi: how much did you end up paying? would be interesting to see the quality of the units you get.
I bought the cheapest set on there because I just want to replace them to get a safety cert, not looking for exceptional quatlity.
I paid AUD$170 for the pair, including postage via Express Mail (I really need this ASAP)
Repco was selling these at over $130 each, so more than $260 for the set! I'll let you know how it all goes once I receive them.![]()
So how did they go?

They fit fine, and seem like fairly good quality. Changing them out was a PITA though
No regrets, no way I'm paying over the odds just to get them from Aus.
Thanks again for your help guys!![]()
