Just found this; http://www.toymods.net/forums/showpo...2&postcount=33
Seems that 3 out of the 4 shifter positions will go through the ae71 shifter hole cause it is so massif

Traditionally factory auto cars have much much larger holes than factory manuals.
Not sure if this applies to the E7 range though.

well the way I see it is why mess something up and then go out of your way to fix it. Just fit the right ratio box in the first place.
actually it's most different from the T50 with a very long 5th gear, it's the best suited to large engines. The W55 is very simular though.
oh I don't know I think 10% is a lot. It's like going from a 4.1:1 ratio to a 3.7:1 for the first two gears, that's some change. I would personally like the lower fifth gear for my 20v though because of the low down power.
Each to their own I guess.
I'd prefer the 'closer'ness of the W57/58 and use the diff ratio to get the overall ratio where I want it, rather than use a W55 and have a good 1st and 2nd, and then a large gap to 3rd.

btw, W55 with a 3.73 will almost be identical to a W58 with a 4.1 (with the obvious exception of 4th). The gap to 3rd was less than I remembered.
Code:W58 with a 4.1 57.5 99.6 148.0 188.7 241.0 vs W55 with a 3.73 58.3 100.9 149.9 207.5 244.1

indeed, off topic but it would in theory be possible to mix and match gear ratios right? I am thinking W55 1-4 with a W58 overdrive
