    nope, from centreline of tyres

    edit: way too slow lol

In the case of leaf spring vehicles you have to allow room for leaf mounting also.

    Hey mate,

I have sent you a PM regarding the diff.

    Cheers,

i have measured with straight edges across both wheel mounting faces and came to the following
    precise measurements:

    ke20/ke25 corolla:
jap banjo front loading type diff 1320mm wheel mounting face to wheel mounting face.
aussie borg warner rear loading diff 1320mm wheel mounting face to wheel mounting face.

track is measured from left wheel centreline to right wheel centreline as has been said,
early ke20/ke25 corollas had an official front and rear track of 1255mm according to a few sources,
i would say its hard to measure across the tyres as you get suspension and tyre deflection on the
ground but possible to within 2mm tolerance.

and early ke20/ke25 corollas had steel rims with +32p offset and te27 versions sported +27p offset
as did some later ke corolla models as far as i know.

so for positive wheel offset calculations: (most factory cars)

    diff width - (offset x2) = track

    ke20/25 corolla:

    1320mm - (32x2) = 1256mm - close enough to sources.

any diff using offset wheels whether positive offset (common) or negative offset (rare) will have a different track measurement
compared to the diff width, only wheels with 0 offset will have the same measurement as the diff width due to the centreline of
the rim being exactly line with the wheel mounting face. with offset wheels where an offset inwards (positive) would result in a
smaller track than diff width or outwards (negative) would result in a larger track than diff width.

also i have measured a ta22 diff at 1355mm wheel mounting face to wheel mounting face although it may be a d series and not a
t series, however i would imagine they would be the same?
