Default what ratio diff should i use?

hey i have just installed a new engine into my old hilux 81 rn31 and i am still upgrading everything else in the drive line to match.

my question today is if i have a 3RZ engine, W56 box 235/45r17 wheels, what ratio would be suggested to run in the diff. i have no idea what the rzn149 hiluxs come with, however i do realise the box has a really short 1st 2nd and 3rd gear so would it be advisable to run a taller diff then the standard rzn149 diff? the ute doesnt do work, towing etc will just be a daily when it is finally done.

also would it be better if i changed the box to a w57 with better driving ratios what diff should i use then?

    anyhelp will be appreciated

check out a gear ratio / wheel size / rpm / speed type calculator, theres a few on the net and you input in different values to calculate your desired parameters.
