Default >>>s/c 12 early and late swap info<<<

Well guys my S/C 12 bearings are on the way out on my ae101 4agze.
Now I've the choice of no less than three of the early type from the MK1 mr2's.
Obviously all early type so questions are lads.
    1. Are there any differences in the mountings,
    2. Are the inlet and outlet pipes different, if so can I use the late type pipes as in will they bolt up like.
    3. Will I have to swap the clutch as in is the clutch wire connection different,
    4. Will the larger late type standard drive pulley fit.
Alot there guys, help us if you can. Cheers.

    Hi,

I've had 3 SC12s on my 4AGZE (late AE92 originally), and none of them have been significantly different. They all fitted up as they should, and my intake and outlet pipes bolted up as expected. I'm fairly sure at least one of them was an AW11 SC12 too.

So while I can't be 100% definitive, I would go for it with whichever SC you can find.

    So in short:
    1 - No
2 - Outlet pipe is different, but your current outlet pipe can be swapped over.
3 - Wiring is the same, plug *may* be different, but is easily changed.
4 - Later SC pulley is smaller, and it can be swapped from what I recall.

    Hen
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

I'll confirm the above. I've got an AE101 GTZ Levin (4AGZE) and have been looking at the same sort of thing for my supercharger.

speed1ton, do you have the Levin, or just the engine in another car? The AE101 GTZ Levin's are rather rare in Australia (I only know of two so far, including mine), would be good to know of any others.

I'm in Ireland dude, black 94 ae101 levin GT-Z superstrut. Have a bluetop R/O/B jap ae86 aswell tho

Like Oz, there is a huge following of Toyotas in Ireland. However there are a LOAD more
AE111 BZR BZG Levins than ae101 here, but of the ae101's that are about here the majority are GTZs, only ever seen 3 ae101 20 valves
The ae101 is a far nicer shape IMO to the AE111
Past year I've come across about 6-7 GTZs for sale in Ireland, we are Toyota freaks here tho

    Hen, thats great info, thanks..
I presume the clutches whavtever about connections, they are all the same diameter.
I think the berings on the clucth are different size
Just hope the smaller drive pulley will slip on
