    Default Recommended battery Amp Hours

So, since my old battery is thoroughly cactus, I have a choice of 2 batteries.

basically, I'm trying to work out if 30amp hours will be enough for my supra, or if I should go for a battery that weighs ~5kg more, but has ~55amp hours.

CCAs aren't an issue, they both have more than enough.

It has an alarm, but beyond that not much that uses a lot of power. factory stereo, etc.

    Cheers,

The reserve capacity of the battery is a measure of how long the battery will last with a constant drain on it. (They put a constant drain on the battery and time how long it takes to drop a certain voltage per cell). So a 30amp hour battery should be able to supply 30 amps for an hour or, 60 amps for half an hour etc etc.

A bigger Reserve Capacity is only usefull if you are likely to drain the battery with the engine turned off. (I.e. How long do you need to crank the engine to start it, if its driven irregularly, you listen to the stereo in the car, etc.)

You will probably find the 30Ah to be adequate.
