    Default 22re flatline issue.

So, I put a new head on my car with a head gasket as I blew a head gasket and my other head wasn't as corroded (old one was leaking some water).. Changed injectors also. It has 165-170 on all pots.

    And it's doing this.

Some people told me it might be the AFM, so I changed it to a 5MGE one, still the same issue...

It splutters going up slowly, and stops at around 3.5k, you can do it fast, but then it flat lines at the same place. Timing seems sweet.

I doesn't drive, well it does... But really bad, then it stalls.

Does anyone know whats going on?

    Thanks,
    marvis.

Mine did the same years back when I had it, dodgy batch of fuel. New fuel filter & pump was needed & it was as good as new. Had fouled the living f*ck out of the plugs as well. Would rev out fine to about 3000rpm and then it was like hitting a wall.

Why would it be doing that right after I did the head though?

Car been sitting around for a while? Old fuel etc. Things don't necessarily have to be related.

was only sitting off the road for a few days. fresh fuel in yesterday. timing has been played with a shitload, to no benefit.

though, marv, i'm thinking maybe if we did run the fuel dry yesterday when we drove/pushed/towed it round the block, might have sucked up some shit off the bottom of the tank. maybe check fuel filter and those injectors?

    dirty fuel filter?
all plugs (TPS, CLT, etc) firmly connected?
vacuum line to FPR hooked up?
foreign object stuck in throttle/intake manifold?
    coil properly earthed?

if you stuffed with the dizzi, did you re-do the connector for the VR sensor? if you swapped the 2 wires around, things will sort-of run but will be quite crapulous.

If a valve isn't seating properly or it is burnt it will run really rough, as in it won't run on that cylinder. I'm not sure what its doing as my work computer doesn't have sound but I will check it when I get home

    Is the TPS set properly?

Have you changed anything in the ignition system?

Just need to make sure the idle pin is earthed only in idle and open circuits as soon as throttle is cracked.
