Just to clarify, those t50s are a 20 spline and they have the 22 spline style shifter, so it has the further back shifter position? And therefore wont fit into a ta22 or in my case ke25 without mods to the shifter hole in the gearbox tunnel.

Heres the answer to your prayers, I had one custom made about 2 or 3 yrs ago by Torrie racing in NZ, you can find him on ebay he makes the short shifters for the
W50 box and after a lot toing and froing with prototypes and mucking around with the housing etc we finally got it sorted. There was one problem though which I fixed myself.
If you have a GT console in 1st gear the shifter was way too close to the upper section of the console so I took it to an engineering place with my standard shifter and got them to heat & bend it to the same as the original, it works fantastic, no slop in it at all. After all the time it took and mucking around I'm glad I did it.
In conversation he did say he was making a couple more to see how they'd go. I did mention that I was in the process of getting a prototype made in the Classic Celica thread at the time but didn't get much interest at that stage.

He is also on facebook under TRS shifters and is a really nice bloke so its probably worth getting in touch with him and seeing if he has any left or can make more.

    Cheers
    Scott

Forgot to mention a big plus for me is with the short shifter I no longer need to lift the stick to put it in reverse.
