thanks for the pic dropbear. kinda understand where i should be headed.
i'll see how full i can get the swear jar this weekend when i try and put it on.
i'm also thinking i might be able to get some of those really small screw drivers or thin allen keys hopefully smaller then the teeth on the shaft and try and pry the clip on using the 2 screw driver method mentioned earlier.
As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are

managed to enlist the girl friend for help as an extra pair of hands
managed to pry it on with 3 little micro screw drivers.
