just emailed them... wonder how much they will be??? $200? $400? fark nose
Any of that can be done easy as, and the best bit is it can be done on a hand lathe, so it's cheap to do one or 2 sets. With the waterpump holes, how much extra meat do you have to drill new holes? Alternativly, if it needs to be spaced out, you can bolt the new pulley to the spacer, and the spacer to the waterpump...That sounds far and away the best option...Originally Posted by RiceburnaGTV

FYI, Ross Harmonic Balances (just off Sunnyholt Rd in Blacktown) rerubbers, manufacturers and repairs balances. Had one off a 5MGE re done and was <$100- for rerubbering and modding the pulley.
If anyone had off the shelf glimmer (fuck I hate that word) pulleys or would could adapt them he can. Been in the game for years and speak the right language.
Also does custom flywheels.

Wow, this is getting huge hits now. As i said earlier getting those alternator and water pump pulleys modded is like $20ea so thats of very little concern. My main concern is getting the harmonic balancer sorted.
Clubagreenie. When you say you got a 5m pulley modified what did they do to it? If we could get 3t modified in a desired way for <100 as you mentioned that would be awesome. Please clarify on what got done specifically

An interesting point in regards to "Gilmer Drives" (but not limited to) from the EPA:
Noise from gear drives and belts
Care should be taken when fitting engine gear drives or non-standard engine and auxiliary belt drives such as alternator belts. Non-standard gears and belts can emit an annoying high-pitched whine. It is an offence under clause 20 for any gear or belt modification to increase the noise level of the engine so it exceeds the noise level prescribed in the Regulation.

The Goodyear Eagle PD Timing belt system is mainly an industrial drive system.
Thery are not guaranteed when used in automotive drives.
These aren't stocked in Australia and we have to import them from the USA.
I have to get an official quote from Goodyear USA. But in the past the pulleys can range from $250.00 - $600.00 each
and the belts can range from $300.00 +.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hey oldcorollas +rep for you, i was sorta wondering about whether or not those belts would ne ok cause theyre designed for low rpm conveyor belts and stuff like that, but on the otherhand im sure a belt as mentioned in an industrial application would endure more strain than one in an automotive application cause water pumps and alternators are fairly free to move so to speak in comparison to a conveyor belt moving i dunno nutella or beer. The resistance on something like that imo would be alot greater than on a car. What do you think

Im heading off the rare spares now to check the differences between the long water pump version of the kits..
