Luke, just undo the LH engine mount bolt, and have a mate hang on a pry bar, to get the pesky bolts out. Steve and I had the A/C copressor off that sucker, as the original had siezed.

    cheers Chuck.

Luke, I will have a quick look at the half stripped engine on the stand, and get back to you. You could come over and practice on that engine if you want, as it is just a parts donor.

    cheers Chuck.

Do the water pump while you are at it. My was fine at the time the timing belt was done but has started to leak now 6 months later.

Well I've got it all done,

had some troubles and put the rotor buttons on 180 deg out, tried to start the car for about 20secs, got it all running but it seem a bit fumey, (just in the garage). I had a couple of farts and pops while it was trying to start.

Also the exhaust note has changed, anyone think I've damaged anything??

I doubt any damage was done, assuming the rotors and dizzy's haven't come in contact and hit each other.

If it runs and you are sure the belt isn't out one tooth, take it for a run.

I've heard rumours that if the belt is out one tooth you'll get a CEL, but I've not confirmed this myself.

Luke the exhaust note change could be down to the fact that you are now getting a healthy spark in each pot. With no crud on the dizzy electrodes your spark delivery is also more accurate. ie. the timing is now uniform.

Farts and pops would have been latent unburnt fuel in the pots.

    cheers Chuck.

Pee wee already taken it for a run I'm 100% sure timing is spot on, the belt came pre marked so it was pretty hard to stuff up.

The rotors and buttons couldn't have come into contact, however I was worried about valve train damage in that 20sec I tried to start it and diagnos the problem,

Also what I was worried about was, it had a smallish backfire if I can call it that, where I got a bit of puff of smoke out of the throttle body, I didn't have the inlet on tight. (when everything was reversed)

I after putting the buttons to the right spot it started first shot and seems to be running fine, as I say with just a different exhaust note. Run was just around the block it will go back to daily duties today, i'll update
