Fbw? Yeh was thinking that, a friend is crafty with a tig so I may get him to make me something.
Just buy a generic TB and run a cable. FBW is shit anyways

as long as the tps is still there it should be fine yeh? or is ecu getting sig form pedal?
the ECU would be receiving a signal from the pedal, then telling the "electrric TB" what to do.
- you will almost certainly have to keep it to make the stock ECU work
Yeah i think the stock ECU would need the FBW intact or the miss-matching TPS signal would likely trip an error code.
Why the stock ECU though? Mos has shown very clearly that an aftermarket ECU is worth BIG hp gains and a decent ECU will run the engine at least as smooth as stock.

Bought it because of it's stock power,it will be used as a daily driver / long distance cruiser,Final drive in Lexus was 3.27, I have it set up with a 3.08VP commie LSD to give it some legs on the highway.
Might get a small turbo later on, (4 or 5 pound boost will be all I need to give it a lift, but I suspect that as the drivetrain will end up being 4-500 pound lighter than the original Porker set up, probably won't be nessesary)
It all came out of a 1/2 cut, started and run before I bought it (I got the key!plus all the essentials.)
Sideshow Jim will be wiring it up,total trust in his ability to get it running.
I've never been a fan of FBW-totally un-nessesary technology, but if I have to use it, thems the breaks.

Yeah fair enough. UZ into a 928 is a great swap....i'd actually like to do an LS into one to really annoy the purists
how did you get a commie LSD into the porsche transaxle?

The engine swap makes sense from an overall cost of ownership point of view (ie, servicing, fuel econ) but unless its an early 928 with the 4.4L you will be sacrificing a fair bit of power by putting a stock 3UZ in there
[edit] Wiki says the 1990s cars were up around 260kw
either way, build thread required!![]()

Missunderstanding, Porsche transaxle removed, cut out tunnel to Fit the 5 speed Lexus auto at the front end, commie diff set up on a frame to mount into the Wissach rear suspension setup.
Power differences, In stock form 3UZ makes equal power to a 2JTT,and close to the last of the 928's (the GTS) power not going to be a problem for what I want.WoooHoooo!

Ls conversion, eek!-pushrods! But makes then go!
Conversion kit from these people,

utilises the transaxle with adaptor plate, dunno about that sort of power in an old and probably outrageously expensive box to rebuild(it has Porsche written on it)
