I've today modified my oil filter location and found some more info about my sump.

I found that there is infact 3 positions for a 1uz oil filter. Forward, center and well rear. The photos I have here are the center and well rear ones. A mate has the front one.

I will be using the Center One.

Additionally, I've pulled the front sump off my other 1uz and found some interesting bits.

Firstly, the front sump doesn't use the typical 1uz "down through the block" oil dipstick, it uses one off the side.

Pickups must be changed for sumps (dah...)

and, the tin bit off the Bottom of the 1uz front sump is f'ing hard to find. I'll have to buy one from toyota new I Think.
